The trains are nice quality but really smaller than they looks like in the picture.

I am a little disappointed with the quality on these. We have older versions of Thomas trains and friends and they seem waaaaay more sturdy then these newer ones. Honestly, I know you pay a little more for the name, but I expected better quality for the price. My kid loves trains so we will keep them, but I am not sure I will be buy many more of these new Thomas and friends trains.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my two and a half year old son who has recently started loving trains. This was by far, his favorite gift - even more than the ride-on car that was MUCH more expensive. This set works perfectly on the M&D brand of wooden tracks that he has and I love that it connects by use of magnets and not hooks. My only complaint (and this is just if I’m being really picky), is that Kevin’s front magnet faces downward and does not connect very well to the other cars, except by use of the back magnet. I know that is the design of Kevin, but my little man insists that Thomas be the lead car at all times which means Kevin can never be a part of the train line, because only his back magnet is useful.

We have multiple wood Thomas & Friends trains, and love them all. The size is perfect for little hands, and the magnets make them easy to put together/take apart. The sets provide a great value when looking to purchase multiple trains at the same time.
