Camdapter ProStrap, Fits Pro DSLRs with Battery Grips, Black

I have a Camadapter ProStrap installed on my 5D MKII and 70D. Once installed, it's comfortable, holds shape and doesn't impede tripod use. It's stiff as a board initially but gradually flexes into shape. However, it’s not soft in the sense of glove leather or a lambskin jacket. Feels more like baseball mitt leather. This made in USA hand strap boasts thick quality leather, heavy stitching, black finish and handsome appearance. Much better made than my vinyl and leather Canon E-1 hand strap.The ProStrap is designed to attach to the camera's top strap loop and a bottom loop provided by a QR plate or battery grip. Mine are attached to the strap loop of a Sunwayfoto or RRS Arca plate. The strap pad falls across the back of the right hand and provides a more secure grip. My oldest Prostrap is 10 years old and still going strong with few signs of use. It has a few scratches but they're only visible if you look closely. Why? The leather dye was applied so it penetrates deep into the leather--not merely sitting on the surface--so scratches simply reveal more black leather.The instructions were clear and illustrated with photos showing step-by-step installation of the strap. Once installed, adjust strap tension for the best fit. It should be loose enough to shift your hand enough to reach camera controls. I deducted a star for the awkward install/attachment design: use of a straw and Scotch tape to pull the nylon webbing through the leather pad! It works fine but you won't want to repeat that dance regularly. Don't buy this hand strap if you plan to frequently remove/install it. A simple redesign with buckles or quick release would make make a good product perfect.Finally, new buyers should understand this product includes only the hand strap. You need a battery grip or QR plate with loop to attach the lower part of the strap. You can also buy the Prostrap bundled with a USA made Arca or Manfrotto compatible plate: Camdapter Arca XT Adapter with Black ProStrap, Fits All Arca Swiss QR and RRS Clamps and Camdapter Manfrotto Neoprene Adapter with Black ProStrap, Fits 3157N Plate, RC2-Type QRs.I've tried hand straps from Opteka, Hakuba, Herringbone and Canon and they pale before the Camadapter. The Camadapter ain't perfect but it exudes quality and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed.

Fantastic handstrap! The leather feels really nice against my skin. It holds its shape nicely, too.PRO:-Build-quality is very high.-Leather is treated with mink-oil (you can tell by the smell, but also verify on the manufacturer's page)-Installation instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Necessary straw is included (no joke).CON:-Slightly trickier to install than other straps.-Transferring from one camera to another requires a drinking straw and scotch tape. I am not kidding, 100% serious.-Strap is very large and might not tighten enough for users with small hands.-No way to attach to tripod mount. This is obvious from the listing title, but still, a simple d-ring and a screw for $2 from your local hardware store will let you install this on any camera.-No way to attach a neckstrap and this handstrap at the same time. (again, can be fixed by adding some additional inexpensive hardware, but none is included.)This is a really nice strap. If you've never used a handstrap before, maybe try something cheaper. If you like it, come back and get this one. Or just spend the $30, it isn't that expensive. You'll end up wanting one on all your cameras.

If you're like me and are sick of the super-long stock camera strap (which you end up wrapping around your arm or worse...removing altogether)....this might be just what you need. Simple, light and unobtrusive, the Camdapter ProStrap allows (heck, ensures) a secure grip without a silly OEM strap advertising camera equipment or getting in the way (tripod shooters rejoice!).The materials used and craftsmanship appear to be high quality and quite sturdy, Note that you do need a strap loop on the bottom of the camera to attach the Camdapter ProStrap to (installation was a breeze with my Arca compatible quick release plate). The setup feels secure and I have no hesitation trusting expensive equipment with it.All in all, an investment I am glad to have made!

If I didn't have the battery grip it would be too big. It's a perfect fit and very comfortable. It's thick leather but soft enough to be comfortable. I shoot several hours a day and it helps a lot. I researched before buying this one. I'm glad I did. I love it.

it's good leather, but tends to slip to the front (oner the fingers) as i put it on, need a second hand to move it back to comfy position.avg size male hands

it's more a strap kit than a fully functioning strap. requires a bit of work

Great product, quality materials. I adjusted mine to be very tight initially, as the leather will adapt to your hand and now have a 'custom grip. Also, relieved my 'gamers thumb' pain from aiming camera when using a strap

It is too cumbersome to detach in the configuration I am using. It may have been more useful if I had purchased the mounting portion instead of using my Really Right Stuff Plate
