RimmelStay Plumped Lip Gloss, 210 1999, Pack of 1

I get so many compliments on this lip gloss. Rosie Posie is the best shade and looks so good on most skin tones (as my girl friends borrow and it looks great on them too)

I bought a plumping gloss several years ago called “Sexy MotherPlumper”, or something like that. This one is a lot like it. I like it and will order in more colors. It does ‘stimulate’ your lips. This color was a nice nude with a bit of shimmer

This is one of the rare negative reviews I have ever given! This is horrible. I’ve used other Rommel products, no problem. This stings so bad I have to immediately remove it. It smells like the camphor and is nauseating on top of the burning. I would be very wary of this product

This gloss has a sting when applied

This doesn’t come with any outer product packaging. Just the tube. There’s also no wrapping around the tube. Just the Amazon product sticker stuck on there, so I guess that has it sealed. But, I just don’t like no box or wrapping. I like knowing that it was sealed. With only the Amazon product sticker being the seal, I only know it was sealed at some point AFTER getting to Amazon and before getting to me. So, I don’t really like that. I also HATE the Amazon product sticker being stuck right onto the product because those things are so darn sticky and a PAIN to get off and they ALWAYS leave sticky residue on the item. I HATE them! They aren’t such a big deal being stuck on outer product packaging, except for when they cover up ingredients 🤦‍♀️ But I HATE them being stuck onto the tube like this! The best way I found to remove these from products without leaving that sticky residue is to find a spot, if you can, where the sticker is a little lifted. Lift it from there and pull it VERY slowly. If you pull it off really slow, it seems to take that sticky residue with it. But, if you just try to pull it off quickly, it leaves a bunch of sticky residue behind (best way to remove that is an alcohol swab). Unfortunately, even if you remove it slowly, sometimes there’s still sticky residue left behind. Okay, I’ve ranted about that long enough...The tube is plastic. The bottom is clear so you can see the color of the gloss. The top is shiny gold. The packaging feels and looks nice. The applicator is the standard doe foot. It’s flat on each side and rounded at the top.The color I got was “1999.” The color is really pretty. A light brown shade.The gloss has a scent. At first I thought cinnamon since it is infused with cinnamon oil, but then I noticed it smelled like bubble gum. So it’s like a cinnamon bubble gum scent 😂 It’s not a bad smell and I only smell it during application. The gloss itself is thicker and sticky. I don’t usually like glosses like that, but this one isn’t too bad. It’s not where it feels heavy on the lips or where your lips are sticking together. The color also lasts longer on the lips that thinner glosses. So, I like that.What’s interesting is it has a VERY cooling effect to the lips. Kind of gives a cold, almost tingling feel to the lips. The product page says, “infused with a trio of Cinnamon oil, Camphor and Capsicum, Stay Plumped will leave your lips looking fuller and smoother in one step.” I read about plumping glosses, and it said that many contain mild irritants such as capsicum (which is an ingredient found in chili peppers), cinnamon, or menthol. So, when they are applied to your lips, the irritation causes blood to rush to the surface of the skin, which results in a mild and temporary plumping of the lips due to transient swelling. So, if you’re sensitive to spicy foods, this might not work well for you. The cold, tingly feeling of the lips continues even after wiping off the gloss. I could feel that cold, tingly feeling on my lips for at least 10 minutes after wiping it off.For me, I like the gloss and the way it looks. But, I don’t like the cold, tingly feeling. It’s just way too strong. It isn’t a hint of cold and tingling, where you could almost miss it. It’s pretty strong and continues while I’m wearing it and after I wipe it off. I also didn’t really notice any plumping from it. So, I don’t see the point in dealing with the cold and tingling if I don’t even get plumper lips. So, this isn’t something I’ll continue to use or purchase.If you don’t mind a cold and tingling from the gloss, then you would like this. The formula is nice, and I love the color I got. I just don’t like the cold and tingling.

Because of the pandemic, getting almost anything can be problematic, especially with “safety” enhancements.So, I’ve turned to online ordering. It, for the most part, is fun. Super easy, and stress free, and I get LOADS of time back.Products shipped directly to my home, save gas (especially with prices increasing), stay “safe”, and be comfortable.There are some things that can be problematic – clothing and make-up. For the record, I’ve been lucky with clothing, even buying a different brand of jeans. Make-up? Don’t wear it as I’m not going out, except for necessities – gas, grocery pick-ups, a few drive-thru or curbside dinners. And, I am NOT dressing up for that. Leggings, tees, and messy hair.But, I saw this plumper (and gorgeous gloss) and I decided to get it. After all, why not? Gloss isn’t really make-up for me. And, there were some benefits to it. The colors on screen often look DRASTICALLY different in person, even among major brands and even in-store. But, I took the chance anyway.When it arrived, there was no packaging – just the sticker on the tube. The sticker can be a pain, especially when opening the product, but that wasn’t a big deal to me. I do have some “adhesive tape” remover pads which work better than alcohol pads. But, I haven’t had the inclination to remove the sticker. It doesn’t affect the product’s performance or its “appearance” on me at all.This is my first RIMMEL product and I –– AM –– AMAZED!! LITERALLY AMAZED.The first thing that struck me when I opened it – the smell! BUBBLE GUM. At least mine smelled like it. That’s a plus – doesn’t smell medicinal or ugly. After all, this is going on right under my nose.Color? RIGHT ON THE MONEY!! I love neutral, “barely there” tones, and this is perfect!! Blends right in to my skin tone and looks natural.One thing I didn’t expect, but am beginning to enjoy – the slight tingling and cooling on my lips. I have VERY sensitive skin and lips for the record. This was like getting a “spa” treatment on them.The color stays in place on my lips and doesn’t move around too much. Yes, residue is left on straws, but then again I am not sharing my drinks. Color lasts quite a while, at least for me it did.The plumper part? Didn’t notice a change. But, the color is perfect and the “spa” effect is so calming, and the price? Perfect. The version I got, as of this review, is $5.24. For that amount, I’d likely stock up on it.And, I probably will on payday!Definitely pleased with this and would likely recommend it.
