14 month old picked it up immediately. There is not enough space between the plate and surface to create a suction. And yes we’ve tried all different surfaces, washing/drying surfaces and plate. Utterly useless. Do not buy.

Great quality. The color is beautiful and neutral, the suction sticks well and little one seems to have an easy time taking food out of the sections. Easy cleaning we well.

Seems to have absorbed the detergent and I can’t get rid of it, no longer using as it changes the taste of the food for baby. So unfortunate as it’s so pretty!
