Not keen on Alex at all....
Alex is a driven, focused, intense and self-absorbed 20 year old perfectionist, unrelenting in his ambition to be the Men's Olympic Figure Skating Champion. He's also an immature, emotionally stunted, jealous, whiny little bitch with a mouth that doesn't have a filter and quite often spews nasty stuff to or about other people that he later regrets; needless to say, I found it very difficult to like anything about him. He has a great, loving and extremely supportive family, and could have some great friends too if he stopped thinking solely about himself for a minute or two.Maybe another story with the very patient and understanding Matt [<3 Captain Cardboard, if he sticks around long enough?] 4 years down the line at the next Olympics in Annecy will show us a totally different Alex....one who has grown up and into himself as a human being, his love of Matt and all things skating [here's hoping no injuries get in the way]. Unfortunately, at the mo I can find no redeeming qualities in him, and I have to say he's one of the very few MC's I've disliked.....Other than Alex [yes, let's move on], this was a really interesting and informative story from Keira, full of detail and knowledge, and if you hadn't realised just how much effort, time, money and pain goes into creating an Olympic champion, this would answer all of your questions.

Thoroughly enjoyed
Alex is competitive and out spoken - I loved his character. When he falls for Matt, they make such a great couple, it's not Insta love, so even better. You really get a feel for how hard it must be for a contender of the Olympic games. It's a really good story and beautifully written.

2 stars
I've read all four books in this series and I'm sorry to say I struggled with each of them, but I was determined to finish them. For me they dragged, and not much seemed to happen.

Cute story.
Cute story about skating. I'm just not a big fan of book where the Hero is telling the story.

Just brilliant...
Copy received from author via Indigo Marketing and Design in exchange for an honest review.I would seriously give this 10 stars if it were possible. By the end, I had happy tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. So good.Based in and around the world of competitive ice skating, we initially meet Alex who has no filter, doesn't appear to think of anyone but himself and has put his entire life on hold so that he can achieve his dream of winning gold at the next olympics. One of the Canadian doubles skaters who Alex doesn't really know (but considers to be unbearably boring) is Matt. As time passes, both young men have opportunities to spend time together and Alex realises his initial impression may be wrong. When tragedy strikes for Matt and his partner Mylene, Alex finds himself wanting to be there to console Matt and help him through this tough time.KA writes characters in such a way that you feel like you know and understand them. I absolutely loved the development of their relationship and when they finally did get together, well, *fans self*, the chemistry was sparking off the page. There's angst, there's tension, there's love, there's an overbearing coach and there's a happy ending that'll get you choked up. KA has obviously done a lot of research into figure skating and it gives great insight into a very competitive sport. I can't praise this book highly enough. It's a 'must read'.

Really enjoyable read
Having read this author before i know what to expect from her which is great characters a good plot line and hot sex scenes and this book has them in spades. The story is about figure skating, the pressure to be perfect the endless training and the desire to win at all costs. Alex and Matt are the main characters and this book explores the high and lows of both mens skating careers as well as the relationship that develops between them. Recommended

In fact it was easy for me to understand and I enjoyed every word ...
When I saw this advertised I wanted to read this but I didn't.You see I'm a UK girl and American/Canadian sports I don't really understand and with a little push from ka I thought how hard can it be? In fact it was easy for me to understand and I enjoyed every word of it. Alex's single minded focus and lack of brain to mouth filter doesn't earn him many friends but Matt sees through it (mostly) and helps him enjoy what he does instead of treating it as a job. I love how it finishes. I am glad I gave it a go x
