truly waterproof, liquid just sits on top. Good dense material for claws/nails/wear & tear
So yeh, it sure is waterproof. I bought these for use on couch and dog bed (I bought two) for times when my creek loving labs come in with swamp dampened fur. I never seem to get them fully dried off, so them having a towel or easy to clean blanket helps mop up the rest of their wetness. Been using it like so for few weeks now, washed them a couple of times. Feels dense but soft. How I found out that they are REALLY waterproof is that once in awhile one of my cats will decide to PEE on the couch or dog bed. I tossed this on their dog bed, which is sort of loose looking (as opposed to couch where it seems to stay straightened out), and I noticed that it was holding pee. The pee had not soaked into the material. SO I carefully picked it up and poured off the pee. In hindsight, I should have tossed a towel on it to soak up the pee instead of trying to walk through the house with a puddle of pee.It is waterproof. That's great. If using it to keep liquids from a place that can easily be washed, then this will do it. However, I would top it with something that can soak up the liquid. So for me, I will put this on the couch cushion then top it with a big towel or small easy to wash blanket. Then pee (or whatever) will hit that first, soak up, and THIS cover will keep the pee (or other liquid) from seeping down to cushion, mattress, etc. It's durable feeling material, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for providing extra protection from nails, claws, wear and tear and such, as well as the waterproof aspect. One of the pictures from a review shows what I experienced: the liquid sits on top. So yeh, it is waterproof.I'll update if I experience anything else worth sharing, especially if I notice it not working anymore.

Don't sleep in the wet spot!
I've now purchased two of these blankets- one for my bedroom in the house and one for the bedroom in my camper. If I'm being honest, we don't let the dog on the bed. She has several of her own very comfy beds, don't worry! That's not what I bought these for. I bought them for adult playtime. It's kind of the worst when you've thoroughly worn yourselves out, when you're completely exhausted and satisfied, then you roll over and climb under the covers ready to rest and recuperate for round two and..(Law & Order dun dun sound)..you find yourself in the dreaded wet spot! It's made it through the comforter and onto the sheets (because like I said, completely satisfied) and now you either have to change the linens or sleep soggy. Both are terrible options. So, I set off in trusty AmazonLand to find a solution and came across this blanket. Both times I ordered it, it arrived on time and in new condition. It works like a charm! The blanket is soft and doesn't feel or sound plastic-y. It's very water-resistant and machine-washable so it is super easy to clean. All the stars. Get one for your bed, your couch, and maybe even your car's backseat!

Best on the first use - good but not great
I bought three of these blankets to use with my dog and all three work but have an issue or two. The main issue is that the blanket works great the first time. Lay it out on the floor or your bed and then trickle some water or other liquid on there and it actually sits on top of the blanket. It's like drops of water on a newly waxed car. Perfect! It's easy to see a mess that way and you can sop it up in a second and it's totally gone, no smell remaining either. The problem is this feature does not survive a single washing. Once you wash the blanket it is totally different. Immediately you notice that water or liquid does not sit on the blanket, it absorbs into the blanket itself. Now, there appears to be a thin piece of plastic (or other material) sewn into the blanket in the middle that keeps liquids from going all the way through so it will protect your rug or sofa if your dog pees on it. I guess this is the promised function. Still, because urine or other liquids go into the blanket it becomes smelly pretty quickly. When I first got the blanket I thought it was a miracle. It was so easy to clean because urine did not get absorbed (much) into the blanket. Some have commented on the noise. It does crackle, that's the material inside. It's not that loud and personally does not bother me. I do wish that the blanket performed the way the demonstration looked and the way it was when I first got it before the first washing. Other than that issue it would be five stars.

Pro, con
The dog blanket is shorter than it appears in the picture & could stand to be longer. Ours is on a "short" 5th wheel bed & doesn't come close to covering headboard to footboard. However, the blanket is perfect for "shedding" off dirt, water, & even fur. The bed stays so much cleaner when we use this, & debris comes off easily. Colors are "clean" and lovely on both sides. It washes well & feels soft and lovely. Our Border Collie knows he's welcome back up on the bed when we smooth this one on.

Everything was fine till...
I liked the quality of the product ,and was quite happy until I unfolded it and saw the color. I specifically ordered the sand one side and beige other side(it's reversible).I ended up with the cream / beige. Since I had issues another time with a return I didn't feel like going through that whole process over again. So now I end up with a color I'm not crazy about so I'm a bit unhappy.i think when u order a certain color it's for a reason. And that makes me a unhappy customer the color of an item purchased is important!!!

Much better than I expected
I ordered this so my Golden Retriever wouldn’t shed on my regular bedspread . It far surpasses what I expected. It’s soft no crinkling sounds . It’s warm , and it’s double sided. I can’t rate the water proofing, thankfully I don’t have that problem. I ordered the 80x120 for a queen size bed and it hangs to the floor .Very happy with my purchase

Save your couch, ease your mind
Let’s be honest. Not everyone’s dogs are behaved, or trained. Mine’s trained but malicious lol. Yea it’s a thing. We have 2 of these for when my dog decides he’s mad at us and pees on the couch. We are grateful to have a backup for when the other is in the wash. Really good quality, soft, and actually look decent on the couch. You wouldn’t know it’s a waterproof blanket from the look so it’s not super obvious. The only thing that got through it was a full cup of coffee - a tiny bit seeped through but it was A LOT of liquid.

Keeps the dogs hair and any paw dirt off the sheets
I sleep in the same bed as my dog (I know some people don’t like that but I will keep on doing what I want). Because of that, she leaves behind hair and some dirt. With these, it protects me (and the bed) from all of her “mess.” Other then that, it is definitely water resistant in the same way a polyester sweater is. If the dog is wet, don’t let them on the bed.

Happy with it
My dog had taken over the spare bed, which has a red and black comforter. She's a blond dog, so you can imagine the dog hair! This cover allows her to continue laying on the spare bed without too much dog hair getting on the comforter. When someone comes to stay, I just take it off and wash it. The perfect solution!

Looks cheap and feels cheap.
It's okay, not great. Mine seems to be waterproof so far, but I worry about washing because it seems more like it's a coating than the inner layer protecting anything. The quilt-like stitching isn't with thread, more like some fabric bonding technique, so essentially the layers are melted together instead of using thread. It has a bit of a rustle to it. Not really surprised by that but was kind of hoping it wouldn't.It looks cheap and it feels cheap. Highly doubt it lasts. I realize about $60 isn't a lot to pay for a blanket of this size, but at the same time, it still feels overpriced.

Comes with free price gouging! 🤬
Decent product; not 100% waterproof as claimed but does help protect the couch in the event of drool or a small "accident".I purchased the 52x82 size for $37 in April and for some reason it's now over $50? Gouging much? Was going to buy 2 more but ill look elsewhere.
