These towels were purchased for travel use, and are minimally decent for the purpose... They are made of a texturized cotton rag, similar to thick paper, and is a little thicker than a Bounty paper towel, with about the same level of absorption, but in a much larger format... While they can be used more than once, they are not really washable (unless you wash and rinse repeatedly in the sink)... I experimented with washing one in a washing machine, and it tore the towel apart on gentle setting...They are good for emergencies in a pinch, but I will continue looking for a slightly thicker and more durable alternative.

I have ordered a similar product in the past. These towels are far superior. They are thicker and softer than others on the market.

Space is at a premium when you're camping. Some of the bulkiest items can be the towels you need to dry off or to dry your cooking gear after cleaning.That's why I've really fallen in love with these compressed towels!! I already have quite a few smaller sizes for general cleaning that come in packages about the size of a breath mint or of a match box.These body-size towels come packaged about the size and weight of a bar of soap, but decompress to be the size of a bath or beach towel. You can store all 5 of these towels in less space and weight than a standard full-size bath towel! Made of cotton, they're reasonably soft and quite absorbent.To use, you simply need to soak them in water and unfold. Once they're fully decompressed, just wring out the water and they're ready to use. You don't need to dispose of them right away, you can rinse them off and re-use them as needed.I noticed both a manufacturing date and an expiration date printed on them with a 3-year shelf life. I can't imagine why they would expire other than they may absorb moisture over time and thus possibly mildew. I suggest keeping them stored in a ziploc bag with some silica gel dessicant packets, it may keep them longer.I give these 5-stars for their usefulness!!

Had to wait till next day when it dries. Before using it, needs to be soaked in water... So what's the point?! Better get a towel from the hotel!

I love to go camping and hiking. Space is always an issue trying to take all the supplies with you that you need. I was excited to try this product out on my last camping trip just to see how they work. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. It’s amazing how much is crammed in that small block. I was next surprised at how well it actually worked as a towel. Now this definitely is not your typical bath towel that one would use every day at home, but it does work. I was able to use it a few different times hanging it up to dry between uses. Great to keep in my camper set up, hiking bag and emergency kits. Also fun to use with kids. It’s amazing seeing the end product.

I guess it’s ok for a single use, but the description says reusable and washable. It’s not. It shredded in the washer and made a mess.
