Overwhelming!
The beauty within this little book is overwhelming at times. The government should send it to every household in the UK. I know it won’t put food on the table but it feeds the soul in an extraordinary way!

A lovely book
Having read The Lost Words and The Lost Songs, this book, The Lost Spells is a really lovely and very thought provoking follow up to these wonderful tributes to nature in all its forms. A beatuiful read.

The Lost Spells Lost Me !
I found the pictures overpowering and the poems not that inspiring. Some were nicely rhythmical, but unless this book were actually READ out loud to a child, and pictures explained and talked about, I fear they might well find the whole experience at best overpowering and and worst just dull. That said, I gave it to an octogenarian who likes both poetry and art, and she thought it was wonderful - that is, if she wasn't being polite! May best advice is that this is a book that you MUST see in a bookshop, and handle, before committing yourself. I didn't do this, and after the great reviews I had read about it, I was very disappointed.

Stunning
"God knows the world needs all the good it can get right now - Out in the gardens and fields, Goldfinches are gilding the land for free. "What a stunning book! This really will transport you away with the red foxes, the goldfinches and the fluttering moths. It will create such images in your head you will forget where you are. Visually beautiful as well. This isn't a book just for young readers, anyone who has a love of nature and beautiful words will adore this. A gift for someone you know or for yourself, you won't regret it

A lavishly illustrated book of poems
A beautiful little book of mostly animal poems and superb illustrations. All very well produced, it would make a lovely stocking filler for a literate young person who also loves nature and art.
