The Ideal Gift for Geeks, Gamers and Puzzle Solvers The Number Cube improves your ability to think logically and strategically, while improving your hand-eye coordination Patented, Precision Engineered Design A patented, precision engineered redesign of the famous Rubik's Cube, the Number Cube is available in plastic, or custom made in wood, metal alloys or precious metals. Design The Number Cube is a patented redesign of the familiar Rubik’s cube, which shows a famous number series on each of its six faces. Materials The Number Cube has been precision engineered so that it can be fabricated from many types of materials, including plastic, wood, alloys and metal. Solution To solve the Number Cube, all the faces must show the six mathematical sequences and all of the numbers must have the same orientation. A Fun Way to Learn Math! The Number Cube web site features articles written by University of Cambridge mathematicians about the history of the number series and the famous methaticians who investigated them. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. 3D Logic Puzzle Where did you get the inspiration for your product? I designed the Number Cube with several ideas in mind. The first was to create a puzzle that would engage and challenge young people in a way that computer games cannot: rather than promoting swift reaction to visual stimuli, I wanted to give them a puzzle that would require them to develop their ability to reason and think ahead, rather like chess. The second was to encourage young people to learn about the magical world of number theory and, hopefully, open up the wonderful world of mathematics to them in a way that is appealing and fun. Thirdly, I designed the Number Cube as a gift. Like any gift carefully chosen, it sends the message that you care about the person you are giving it to. But, here, there is an additional point: you are telling the recipient that you think they are smart, someone whose intellect you admire, someone who you believe has great potential. That’s a potent message to send to a young person at a critical stage of their development. It also contains a challenge to them to prove that they are worthy of your estimation. Even if they can’t solve the puzzle at first, don’t be surprised if you see them pick it up again later in life: they will want to prove that they are capable of solving it. The final reason for designing the Number Cube was as a tribute to the great mathematicians whose works I have studied and learned so much from: to Fermat, Newton, Abel, Gauss, Leibniz, Lagrange, Riemann and Hilbert. Your work has made my own life, and the lives of millions of others, so much richer. What differentiates your product from similar products out there? A unique mathematical puzzle based on a precision engineered design that is both fun and educational Tell us about the best and most challenging parts of the creation process. The greatest challenge was to design a cube that could be fabricated, not only from plastic, but also from heavier materials, like wood and metal. Allowing for denser materials means that the design of the cube has to be precision engineered to ensure that it can withstand the torque created when the faces are twisted. We had to create complex 3D CAD models and create working protypes using 3D printing.

Great idea; still available; there is a website
I'm giving The Number Cube Logic Puzzle a 5 for the great idea. I just ordered one for my grandson. He's into both number series and cube puzzles, so it seems like it will be a great gift for him. Contrary to what another reviewer posted, it is still available and the website is here: http://number-cube.com/. I'll try to remember to write another review after my grandson has tested it out.12/28/15 - Well, I guess I can't write another review, so I will add to this one. My grandson loved the Number Cube Logic Puzzle and solved it within a couple of hours. He also said that it was the easiest to manipulate of any the cube puzzles that he owns. Mr. Puzzlemaker, would you please make a harder number puzzle?

cool, but feels cheap
Very interesting. Plastic felt a bit cheap, very light. Numbers are hard to read (If you're like me, you looked at them and said 'oh, it'll be fine, they're not that bad!'. They're pretty bad.). I gave it to a friend who loves math and is a whiz with rubix cubes--he seemed very excited about it.

Wish it included at least SOME instructions. - or at least the website address
It would be 5 stars if it came with come form of instructions. I had to stick a piece of paper in there with the company's website so my nephew would have any clue what you are supposed to do with it.

Sounds like they are on down the road with my money ...
It arrived with no instructions or reasoning for the puzzle. You-tube is unaware of such a puzzle but lots of rubiks cubes. The web site from the product description on amazon does not exist and you got it, contact amazon and the product is no longer available. Sounds like they are on down the road with my money but I have a new paper weight.

Interesting Puzzle
The Number Cube can be bought in the form of plastic, wood, alloys, and metal. I have the plastic model. It arrived in a box that was shrink- wrapped with plastic. There was no apparent damage to the packaging but the entire cube came apart with the first careful exploration of it. One of the 27 pieces was broken at the base, and the design of the cube depends on the integrity of all pieces. This defect indicates to me the possibility of poor quality control at the Innovation Factory LLC facility. The concept of the puzzle, based on the Rubik Cube design, is interesting with the goal of arranging the pieces so that each face of the cube displays a famous number sequence discovered by mathematicians. These six sequences are: prime numbers, digits of pi, Magic Square, Fibonacci series (unique number), digit of e, and triangle series.I am familiar with these number sequences because of my readings in the history of mathematics. The website gives helpful hints about the solution of the puzzle with the written directions provided by a 12 year old boy. Even with the hints, the puzzle would be an interesting challenge to solve. The poor quality of this plastic version was disappointing.
