Great tool except
This soldering iron gets up to temperature very quickly. Makes me look like I've been doing this for a long time. Only thing I can say to make it a better tool is the cord. The cord is very short, it sometimes makes the solder joint nearly impossible to get a good heat on due to the short length of the cord. Other than that I am completely satisfied with the price and the quality of the tool.William hobbiest solderer

Will work with 8786d,862d+
After four different orders finally found one that will correctly work with the 8786d and the 862d+. But like the rest of this China crap it's a pig and a poke. I'd suggest just buying a Weller that way you won't ever have to worry about this problem again like I did.

Its to short my use.
The product plugs right into my soldering station. But the cord is maybe half the length of the one that came with my station. So I just added its cord to the one that I had. Now its plenty long.

Great Replacement for my 898D+
I needed a soldering iron replacement for my 998D+ to fix the “S E” error displayed and after testing my old iron found out that the heating sensor was open. This iron fixed the error, worked perfect and as advertised it has the same metallic heating element as my original iron, not ceramic as most of the ones listed in Amazon.I had previously ordered one that listed in the description as a direct replacement for my Yihua 898D+ that did not work and after inspection found it had a ceramic heating element and a plastic connector.Looking forward to using it, but from the get go heated fine.

Works for 8586 generic solder station (TXINLEI etc.) but short cord
No issues with the iron. It plugged into my TXINLEI 8586 station and powered on first time. The fitment of the tip, sleeve, and heater element is actually better than the original, but the cord is ~8cm shorter. I may re-use the cable from the old one if that annoys me too much. Ironic to modify/fix a soldering iron with another soldering iron....

This iron works as good as the original that comes with the 862D+ rework station!
The item was delivered on the day it was promised and was in perfect condition. I immediately plugged it into my 862D+ and it fit perfectly. I dialed up the temp needed and flipped on the switch for the soldering iron. It quickly got up to temperature and was ready to be tinned, in preparation to use it on several items in need of repair. It performed great and I quickly made short work of a stack of items that had accumulated since I broke the previous iron, this one replaced. I couldn't be any happier with this purchase than I already am.

Mostly trash.
It works but the handle heats up too much and the cord is so short as to make it mostly useless. At best you can expect it to last 3 months. I've gone through three of these, meanwhile my 29.99 Weller I bought a decade ago still chugs along just fine.

Cheaply made, short and stiff cord, thankful it did not damage the soldering station
Ordered this based on other reviews stating that works with Yihua 898-D+. It does NOT, or maybe the item I received was defective. As soon as I turned on the soldering station the temperature display was bouncing around 001 and 002 and I could smell abnormal burning plastic/electronics. Luckily it wasn't the station, it was the new iron.Otherwise, the handle looks cheap, the cord is stiffer, thinner and 8 inch shorter than my original 10 years old Yihua.I had no choice but to return the iron within 20 minutes of receiving it :(Word of advice: you may want to check the wiring against the original iron before turning on your station. There are 2x wires going to the heating element, 2x wires to the temp sensor (+ and -) and 1x for ground. Make sure they match your original iron to the connector pinout.
