California's Imperial Valley Guitars has been at the forefront of today's revived Weissenborn Hawaiian guitar movement, with their numerous innovations being widely copied on several continents. This is a new model that Imperial released this year. It's the all Koa version of their Royal Hawaiian series called the Koa Kani. The Royal Hawaiian Koa Kani has all the deluxe features of Imperial's other Limited Editions and adds to that all hand selected Hawaiian Koa for top, neck, back and sides. The Koa Kani comes with the Fishman Sonicore pickup and their Presys+ preamp system. This system features 4 bands of EQ as well as a notch filter for feedback busting and a phase switch, another tonal variable that is useful for adding some extra fullness at low volumes. The + part of Presys+ is the built-in tuner, always handy to have, but especially if you're going to be changing tunings in the middle of a set. As with Imperial's other limited editions, the Royal Hawaiian Koa Kani comes with everything they've got, including the Fishman system and the custom fit extra deep hard shell case.
