It is what it is, not more.
If you plan on using this, you’re probably using it wrong. It’s basically a space blanket shaped like a bivy sack. It’s not durable. It is waterproof, and it will add a few degrees to your sleep system. It’s not breathable.I carried it when backpacking with a tarp instead of a tent. When I got caught in a thunderstorm, and lost one of my stakes in the chaos, this kept me warm and dry under my inadequate tarp setup. I managed a few more uses on cold nights after that.It weighs almost nothing. It works in a pinch.

Straight line wind storm protection
I got caught in a straight line wind while riding unprotected on a 400 mile bike trek. I hunkered down and wrapped up me and my technology…placed my bike underneath. I was sheltered from storm! I dried the Bivi but couldn’t pack it back, properly, in sack. I have it wrapped up with a rubber band.

Just in case
It finally happened after decades of climbing, I got into trouble climbing a multi pitch route. The weather changed, I dropped essential gear in the cold and crazy wind. I was unable to proceed, hypothermia set in. I had to call mountain rescue to save my ass before I froze. I brought a plastic ground sheet (polycro) as it's so light, but it was shredded in my miserable hanging belay. I bought this the next day. If I had one of these to throw in my pack, I would have been toasty. My fingers are mostly fine, but one is nerved damaged. I expect it'll heal in time. Get one, no get two and give one to you climbing partner!!

Ripped on first use.
Took this on a canyoneering trip in Zion in a wet canyon. Halfway through the canyon you camp. I got this to wrap around my sleeping bag. It tire in one place. I can still use it again. Maybe I'll just need to put some duct tape on it. But the fact is that it ripped.

Keeps warm, locks moisture
Nice product very spacious and good quality. Material is tear resistant but not tear prouf so still be careful when taking it out as your thumb might poke a hole in it while flating it out. Expect to use for 3-4 times before you have to replace.

Foil blanket
Note this is the thin foil blanket, not alternative / thicker bivvy option. Packs small and great to have in backpack for emergency situations. Orange drawstring bag. Not single use but tricky to re-fold neatly once opened!
