A great read
This is just the writing style I love to read and this did not disappoint. It is set in 1861 in Durham and is based around a foundling school that has Ben set up for homeless kids. It's an easy reading style . With what you would expect from a story set in these times. Community, loyalty and family at the forefront. #TheMillersDaughter #NetGalley

Elizabeth Gill writes so well! Great book which I recommend!
I have picked this book up constantly throughout the day and neglected tasks to finish it.Elizabeth Gill’s writing reminds me of the great Catherine Cookson’s. She can really tell a story! Her characters are well drawn and the reader only wants the best for them. There is no bad language, no violence, but they are gritty and realistic. The happy ending is the icing on the cake.I loved it, as I have all her books.

An unusual Writer..
3.5.Not sure if I liked the style of writing but certainly not sickly sweet like most of these light and lovelies. What I am sure of is.. I’m sick of Authors who fill their books with the repetitious thoughts and actions of various characters simply to bulk out a thin story. This shouldn’t have been a thin story.. the ideas were quite clever but simply not built upon.Nuns acting as Doctors with little or no training but mostly succeeding against all odds..“Well blow me down and call me Shorty”
