American Manufacturing 4620 Black 22" Shift Lever for Universal ATV

I ordered this for my Polaris 4 wheeler because I have large feet and could not get the toe of my hunting boots under the foot shifter. Thanks to Amazon Prime, the order arrived very quickly and in good shape. For the next part of my review please note that I bought my Polaris used, so I can not verify that the foot shifter is original equipment. When I attempted to slide the saddle over the foot shift lever it would not fit, so I had to pry the saddle further apart, then when I put it over the shifter lever the bolt holes did not clear the bottom of the lever for me to bolt it on. I ended up taking off the lever and getting longer bolts so I could clamp it to the rod coming out of the transmission (see photo). It works fine this way but it pretty far back. When I have time I think I will have a new saddle fabricated and welded onto the hand shift lever so I can put the foot shifter back on and install the hand shifter onto the foot shifter lever.

I don't have full rotation in my left foot this makes the shifting process 10000% better, keep in mind I would have some way to bend it on hand to bend it to clear engine side or pull start if equipped, also keep in mind the clearance to your leg depending on quad higher in gear closer it gets so make bend adjustments as need, also depending on quad since not using force of your foot to switch it from neutral to 1st or reverse you may need to rock the quad back and forth to get it click into gear (depends on quad) when starting off.

Good quality. I will tell you that it WONT fit a 2017 Honda rancher out of the box without seriously scratching the plastic. I bent about a 1 1/2" offset in it to get it to work. Also when shifting I found it best to keep your hand on the shifter for a second or the weight of the shifter will throw it out of gear.

Ordered and installed for a pal whos got some foot issues and cant use the shift lever on his Honda Fourtrax!! I'm very surprised the seller didnt check the hardware bag before shipping as we were missing all of it.(Good thing we had a few screws/nuts laying around) It went on without any issues and works like a charm. Way easier than trying to get a thick winter boot under the shift lever. He loves it.

This is an excellent product and makes shifting a lot easier especially for my dad who is older. I put this on a Honda 300 and had to slightly modify it by making some fairly easy bends to avoid hitting the gas tank. I would definitely purchase again if needed though

Bought this for my four wheeler. My dad loves it, but for myself its taking some getting used to. It's a great idea though to have if you don't want to use your foot to shift gears.

First of all they sent the wrong one. Wanted the curved handle not straight. Second, the clamp opening that fits over the shifter was not wide enough and after doing some measuring I found that even if it did fit, the bolt heads would rub against the crank case housing. Third, after setting it next to the shifter, I found that while shifting, the handle would hit the bumper while downshifting and your leg while upshifting. This will not fit a 1998 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4. It is a good well made product, good welding by the clamp, heavy, but just did not work with my ATV.

Works perfect I am unable to use my legs due to a car wreck and this still lets me ride ATVs with my kids
