I've used this type of dye before, the color is very nice, it produces an antique-looking finish. It works very well as long as you follow the instructions, just be mindful that it thickens and dries very quickly, so it works best for smaller items because it's easier to get an even coat.

This stuff gets a lot of hate in the lather working forums. The concern is that it bleeds when it gets wet. I didn't have this experience. I put it on raw vegetable tanned leather, let it set a few seconds and wiped it down really well. The dark spots got nice and dark and the color is rich and full. You do have to be careful with coverage as it can be uneven. A second coat may leave a darker overall finished than is desired so try to get it on evenly the first time. I sealed it with 50/50 resolene and water and didn't have any issues with the color bleeding out. This color is exactly what I had hoped; a nice dark brown that would match well with the boots and shoes I own. Perhaps I just have poor technique with spreading the stain, but it was difficult to color the leather without leaving streaks. Overall, would recommend on both color and quality.
