Not organic
Very soft out of package. Much nicer than a different brand I usually buy. However, the cotton does not claim to be organic and the white is a bleach white color, not a natural color. Salbakos is not listed on any of the tags so might be a bait and switch with a different brand.

I like it, but I'm also not high-maintenence
No complaints. Was slightly worried about the "lack of absorbency" that was expressed by other reviewers ... but then remembered I was using the same bath towel that I got 9 years ago and most people probably would have tossed that towel after +/-4 years. Basically, I just needed something to replace a towel that was falling apart and practically see through. This said, I did follow the advice I read on Turkish towels of washing before 1st use to soften fibers (but figured this is also for most towels?)... and not sure if it was that, or the fact this is a good towel, but I've been using it for ~a month since ordering it and really like it. After weekly washing it still looks nice - I'm especially impressed that the tassels haven't tangled or fallen apart. And since I wear make-up daily, also appreciate that any make-up residue or cleanser left when wiping hands/face after washing hasn't leached color out of towel (as of yet). As far as the "absorbency" issue, haven't had any problems. I am appropriately clean/wet when I get out the shower, and after using the towel am drier than I was before. I have also used after washing hair and the hair is less wet after using towel ... so, again, feel this towel does it's job. It's stylish and is nicely sized (don't feel like Tommy Boy in a small jacket). The added bonus for me is that in comparison to my 6'3" husband's bath sheet, this towel doesn't feel like it weighs 100 lbs after getting wet. Basically if you want a towel to be a large-sized towel, dry you off, take relatively little effort to look nice, buy this towel. I shopped around for prices and at time of purchase was the best one for the price.

Perfect for those with allergies!
This is beautiful -- it's very soft and very expensive looking. My daughter has allergies to the dark dyes used in black and dark blue fabrics. Her office chair at her job made her itch horribly. At her doctor's prompting, she needed to find an organic and 100% cotton cover-- I found this on Amazon and she loves it. It's the perfect length - it doesn't look like an old lady blanket - and it fits in in the corporate motif. It's very, very soft and well made. Time will tell, but it looks like it won't snag easily. We're very happy with this item!

Surprisingly good towel
I returned from a deployment to Turkey in the early 90s with 2 of the finest Turkish towels I could find. 25 years later they sadly had to be replaced. I searched for the best I could get in thick fluffy genuine Turkish cotton towels and the ones I got, although nice, didn't last a year. So I thought I'd try this Peshtemal. I'm surprised at how well it absorbs. As long as it functions like the thick towels we once had I think we're better off using this type towel for the bath. The light weight and good looks is a nice benefit.

Love these towels!
Love these. Functional yet decorative. They wash well. I used them all over the house, cover for furniture, bedding so the cats don’t make a mess. :) They wash like towels but are much prettier. I bought some in gray and blue. Going to buy a few more. :)

soft, absorbent, large, quick dry, displays beautifully
This was the second type of Turkish towel I purchased. I have tired of buying towels that after a year or so become scratchy and less absorbent. I wanted a soft, quick drying, absorbent and lightweight towel. After doing some research I began looking at Turkish towels as they are supposed to do just that. I can tell you the first Turkish towel I purchased was the best seller for the category and while it was okay, and it met all the requirements, it was just so thin. It was like wrapping a piece of cotton fabric around me, and during a cold winter I could not wrap my mind around it. I then tried the Salbakos Turkish Peshtemel Fouta Towel in Blue. I LOVED it ! It met all the criteria and still felt comforting when I wrapped up in it. The material is a thicker weave in a herringbone pattern. It is soft, absorbent, dries quickly, and without wrinkles. This towel you can machine dry (I do low) without a fabric softener, where the others are hang dry. Time will tell if they do soften and stay absorbent as they are used. I liked them so much I ordered three more. I only wish they came in a smaller size so I could use them as a hair towel.

I was happy with the size -- I am a 5' 6" ...
Very absorbent and feel lovely after washing a few times - DO NOT try to use them straight out of the package, FUZZ CITY!!I was happy with the size -- I am a 5' 6" size 18/20 lady with a similarly round husband and these are long enough to wrap all the way around with room left to tie or tuck in an end to walk from bathroom to bedroom. They are also very wide, going from my armpit to about the middle of my calf.

Softest Peshtemal I Have Tried
I have tried three brands of Turkish peshtemal towels. This brand is by far the softest. They are thinner than standard bath towels. However, they do just as good a job drying a person off after bathing. They dry faster than standard towels, preventing bad smells. They produce much less lint than standard towels. I'll use these kind of towels for the rest of my life. I will not go back to regular towels.
