Versital rod lengths for maneuverability
I'm into using foam/styrofoam for crafting and using a knife or whatever is messy and takes longer. This little beauty has several " hot rods" (various lengths) that snap easily into the handle. It makes cutting any size styrofoam easy. LOVE IT.

Inexpensive and broke almost instantly
I purchased this tool to cut some disks for my kindergarten class out of .25" styrofoam. I was thrilled when I got it! I read the instructions and then popped in the shortest wand (because my styrofoam was thin). I waited....and waited....and waited.....and it never heated up. I turned it off, re-adjusted it, waited a few minutes, and then tried again with no luck. So I traded it out for the wand that was the next size up, and it heated up immediately. I carefully and slowly began cutting my disks. After about 20 disks, and 20 minutes (I was watching the clock because it said to let it cool off every 30 minutes), it went cold again. I thought that maybe I had let it stay hot too long (I was only using it 4 notches up on the heat dial). Now I had two wands that wouldn't heat up anymore. THEN I put in the wand that was the next size up and cut the rest of my disks. But, what's frustrating is that I'm using a 6.5" wand to cut .25" thick styrofoam. I'm just hoping the other wants don't burn out as quickly as the first two. I bought the least expensive tool I could find and I guess I got what I paid for.

Cutting foam for tumblers

Awful.
Awful. Light has to be flashing to be heating. The cord falls out. The needle falls out. The idea is great. But I've had nothing but frustration. I got it to heat up twice. That's it. Garbage.

Works great
I put some 1/64th scale cars into fish tanks for display... by getting some styrofoam blocks and cutting them to fit I get 56 cars in each 10 gallon tank. This cutter made it easy to cut the foam to the sizes I need. It will come in handy when I make display stands for other items I have as well.. Easy to use, cuts fast and is lightweight..

Defective right out of the box
I bought this and should have tested it right away. After the return window closed I tried to use it. Right out of the box it wouldn’t power up. Very cheaply made. Don’t waste your money.

ok quality
i purchased for a specific project and really wore it out pretty quickly, the heater rods are super flimsy and all bent, with one breaking, really only gonna be good for very small light projects.... would not buy again for my projects, definitely wish I'd gotten something more substantial and not bought an inexpensive one......
