RagoStyle 6797 - Women's Extra-Firm Shaping Thigh Slimmer

Haha not sorry for the pun! Ok here we go!Sizing: I’m a true size 14, and ordered the XL. I didn’t think it was going to fit at first, but after a bit of struggle, I got it up! The leg openings do not create any bulging, which is usually a problem with shorts or shape wear for me. The top band reaches my natural waist, not up to my bra, so back is lower than most shapers, and does create a muffin top. However, it is entirely possible if I sized up, that wouldn’t be an issue. That said, I have a low back longline bra from Dominique that does a perfect job of smoothing any spillage from this shaper. I wear the shaper over the longline bra so I can remove the shaper for bathroom purposes later on.Bathroom ease: I give this part three stars. It does have a split gusset, but you have to pull and hold it open. I’d be nervous about peeing on my hand. Taking it off would likely be the way to go, but it will take a little time, and adjusting the longline bra would likely be required when putting it back on.Top band/leg openings: the top band is much thinner than I’m used to seeing with other shapers, and definitely folds over on itself. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it rolls down, but the top does fold down once. My solution is using a little seamstress tape, and tape it to my longline bra, or if you decide to use a waist to go ahead and put that over the shaper, and that will keep the band from folding over.Comfort level: this is where a star comes off. The fabric is very rough, and if you have sensitive skin, it might be a bit much. I don’t think there is any noise issue like others have described, but the texture is an issue. Rago, I appreciate you trying to make something pretty with lace, but I would prefer a softer material next time.Effectiveness: compared to Maidenform’s equivalent, this one is a noticeable difference in my abdomen, butt, and thighs. I would definitely say this really is a firm shaper. It’s just unfortunate that I’ll likely have to sacrifice comfort if I go with this one on wedding day.

These things are like a magical dream! I have tried lots of thigh length shapewear, as I am a middle-aged woman, who has had children, and I prefer to wear pencil skirts every day, and do not like my thighs touching each other. So I have the common belly pouch combined with my need to have something cover my thighs. This is the first piece of shapewear that has done both things, minimize he blorp and prevent my thighs from rubbing. For this alone, they get 5 stars.I will say that I am a 36 waist and due to other reviews I purchased a 4X(38). It was the perfect sizing. The first time I tried these on, I was not sure if I would keep them as they felt a hair too tight (made me feel a bit dizzy and strange) and the fabric is odd and was a bit noisy. I decided to give them a chance due to so many rave reviews (not amazon reviews, but ones from pin-up girl sites, and vintage clothes groups). I am glad that I did. After my initial short wearing, I wore them out and they were fine. I did my grocery shopping in them. NO problems. I think they relaxed just a bit from the first try on around the house. They smoothed everything, and were strong enough to make my blorp minimal, but as they are a 4X and a size larger than my waist measurement, they did not create the muffin top effect. I thought the little garter straps would bother me, but for some reason, they do not. I don't know if they are removable or not, but as they don't bug me, I might not bother tying to see if they are. They do have an open crotch, for urinating without having to pull down the garment, but I don't think I would ever have the courage to try this, I would be afraid I would pee all over the thing! Glad it is an option, just not one I will likely utilize. I might try it at home, see if it is possible... or maybe I'll buy one of those lady funnels!These are not cheap, but they are extremely high quality and worth every penny if you need this level of shaping, and can endure the first, difficult moments. These fit exactly as expected, but that is because I ordered a size up from my actual size (I'm 36, bought 38) after reading all advice and reviews.I am now a Rago fan, and will likely buy at least one more pair of these, so I can rotate them, and definitely, other Rago products in the future.

I was surprised to receive item and get a pee hole. Just did not feel right.

Unusual well-made Rago product...firm got but supports my ever-aching back wonderfully. Even my doctor approved this approach to the hopefully temporary misery of the lower spine damage.

I bought this item for my wedding in September and it worked perfectly for my low-back dress. I normally wear a size 10-12 and ordered an XL and it fit perfectly. No problems with rollingon the waist or the legs, which I was super pleased with! It comes up higher in the front to help conceal the tummy nicely too. Very happy with this and will order more colors in the future.I also have the high waist version, which I love as well, but the high waist was too high for my wedding dress.

I expected these to fit small and they did. I am 5'6" and 115 lbs and based on other reviews I ordered the medium size. They are snug! But that was what I was looking for. There is rubber inlaid at bottom of legs so they stay in place. The top did crumple/roll down a smidge, but that was when I was slouching at my desk. Overall I think these would be great for a special occasion/event, but they get a tad uncomfortable after an 8-hr work day. They definitely make your body shape look great tho!!

I could tell that this item did what it was supposed to. Though I never tried it on under anything, it seemed to suck me in in all the right places. I had to return it though because the pattern showed through the dress I intended to wear it with. I will be trying to find a patternless Rago but it is proving difficult.
