These are the perfect example of my pet peeve about 1/4" phone jacks. The #1 point of failure with jacks like this are the way that the back of the barrel is flared on the backside to hold everything in place - of course they don't show that angle in the photos. A good jack has strong/tight connection between layers, can be tightened to a reasonable torque for securing, and is resistant to damage from forces induced by the plug - these GLS jacks fail in all of those qualities. In the picture I've got a Switchcraft in comparison to the GLS. Look very carefully at the center of each jack. The metal on the GLS jack has fractured around the entire circumference - the Switchcraft jack shows no signs of metal failure at the flange point. I cannot understate how critical this difference is - the GLS jack is already broken: it has no integrity (every jack in my 20 pack was identically bad). The other side of the jack shows that the barrel is completely threaded through, and held by a flimsy washer pressed on the opposite side. See how the Switchcraft is not threaded all the way. Look at the thickness of the washer, and the knurled backside for a secure connection. There is a 90% chance that the mere act of attempting to tighten down the GLS mounting nut will result in the barrel beginning to rotate in the jack housing. Application of the slightest force will result in mounting integrity failure. If you like loose jacks that can't be tightened, then these are great. You will want to kick yourself for not spending another dollar for a jack that doesn't immediately fail.

They work fine for me!
Last autumn, and a week ago, I designed, 3D printed, and assembled two guitar speaker cabinets. Both cabs, as well as a couple of DIY pedals, are using these jacks. I recently fabricated a parallel cable to run both cabinets as you can see in the photos.Even when I cranked up the amp in the photos, a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 36, to make sure my fabricated cable would hold up, these jacks held up just fine to the electrical energy passing through them and to the enormous sound pressure inside the cabinets. That's about all I can say for these. I've had issues with the TS plugs you see in one of the photos; The threads are poorly machined so I've had fitting issues with those. Not the case with these jacks and the supplied nuts and washers that come on them. Every jack I've used from this pack has cleanly installed with no issues!
