My first Helmet
This is my first helmet and the reviews I read influenced my decision to purchase. Since I had nothing to compare it to, I decided to spend the extra money. You can definitely spend less money, but safety was paramount, a good helmet is less expensive than the emergency room. It fits well, is light weight, and I like the magnetic quick release clasp. The LED light runs constant red or flashes red. I actually removed the LED light (which is a magnetic application) and installed it on the seat post of my e-Bike. It's a little pricey but seems to be a quality product.

Like helmet type
Great looking and once I got it adjusted correctly… comfortable and love the magnetic light on the back. Have to get used to the clip lock.

Nice helmet
Updating my prior review as customer service corrected the issue. The helmet is nice. I originally did not receive the light that comes as part of the set. It was out of stock when I raised the issue but after I couple of weeks the company shipped it out to me for free. I’m keeping the product.

could not get it to fit
[This is for both the large and the medium, both returned]I could not get this to fit. I wear a size 7 1/2 hat so it seemed like a no-brainer. Ordered the large, got it, and it flopped about on my head in a way that couldn't possibly be helpful. I looked for additional pads in the box and couldn't find any.I measured my head, just under 59 cm. I thought, OK, the medium goes up to 59cm, that must be the one! [I've been wearing a medium helmet (a Giro Reverb) for the past five years] The medium wouldn't fit over my head at all.Epilogue: It turns out i didn't understand what the dial inside the helmet is for. Using the dial on Heritage helmets (not the same model, but hopefully similar enough) I'd found at a bike shop I was able to:- get a Medium to fit over my head, but it a scary-tight way in the front and back- get a Large to feel snug in the front and back of my head, but with a lot of wobble from side to side.Still not sure how I feel about the side to side wobble. I may have lucked out with the fit of my existing helmet. I'm probably in the oblong head group, like another reviewer who had similar fit issues.

Protected Me!
Bought this helmet a year ago and have loved it since. Breathes well when riding throughout town and everything adjusts well to fit my big head. I recently got hit by another bike rider and had to set my bike down and walked away relatively okay but the biggest thing was no concussion or lasting head trauma from the wreck.

Do NOT size down if your head is a “long oval” shape
** INITIAL REVIEW: 2 stars ** (Scroll down to see update.)This helmet is gorgeous and incredibly lightweight, but the advice to size down if you’re on the cusp was 100% wrong for my head shape. My head is 57cm or hat size 7 1/8, and is a “long oval” shape, which means long front to back and narrow side to side. I wear:- a large in women’s hats- a medium in men’s hats- a medium in most bike helmets (Giro, Bell, etc.)- a medium in most motorcycle helmets (Shoei, Arai, etc.)(FWIW, the size medium in the Nutcase Street helmet — a competitor that a lot of people try before shelling out for this Chapter helmet — is too tight on me, and the large is comically big. That helmet just doesn’t work for me at all.)57 cm is on the cusp between small and medium in most helmets, including this one by Thousand. So following their fit advice as well as that of other reviewers — and against my own better judgment — I sized down to a small in this Chapter helmet.Bad move. :( It pinches my head front to back. Awful pressure points; immediately headache-inducing.It’s a beautiful helmet, but I’m annoyed at the misguided advice to size down. Now I need to exchange it for a different size. Will update my review pending a response from Thousand customer service.** UPDATE, two weeks later: 5 stars **Thousand customer service was great. They sent me a medium right from their warehouse in California, and it fits perfectly! Shipping was free. I returned the size small to Amazon. Now that the helmet fits correctly, I’ve explored all the accessories that come in the box.Based on other reviews, I think Thousand has fixed the issue with the magnetic USB tail-light turning on while charging. While I charged mine, only one small LED gently flickered (and then held steady when the charge was full). It certainly wasn’t blinking at full brightness while charging, like reviewers from previous years mentioned. The light does automatically turn on when it magnetically snaps on your helmet. And holy cow is it BRIGHT. I can see how this would be really useful in many cases but annoying in others.I love the pop-lock feature and can easily fit my U-lock through it.I’m convinced that, with MIPS, this is the best helmet on the market. It’s SO pretty and lightweight, it looks cool, it’s super functional, and I love the company’s free replacement policy. I love this helmet!

Great quality, perfect fit and looks as cool as a bike helmet can
I got this for my e-bike and the fit is great. I really like the magnetic clasp, which is also easy to release only when you want it to release. Looks are cool and I don’t mind wearing a helmet as much since it is a nice design. Really like the extra MIPS protection it offers. Magnetic light on the back is ok. Not great. Super short battery life and it needs to be USB C for charging. But not a dealBreaker and the nice thing is that when it’s not on the helmet, it doesn’t look like anything is missing.

Fit
I’d read several reviews where customers were not satisfied with the fit but I decided I’d order the helmet and try. I’m very happy to report that the helmet fits me perfectly and was precise in the measurement. My head size is exactly at the high end of size “small” so I wasn’t Sure if I should size up but the size small is snug and not too tight. A few minutes fiddling with the straps and dial adjustment to get my exact fit and I’m off for a ride!

A good helmet, but the included LED light was a bit of a letdown
The helmet itself comes with a lot of features, mips for reducing rotational motion during a crash, visor to minimize glare, pop-lock for easy clamping, even magnetic clips on the straps for securing the helmet in place. It comes with an LED light that is mounted either on the back of the helmet, or in a separate mount attached to the bike seat post. This LED light is rated at 50 lumens, with about 2 hours before the battery dies. Form my actual use, I only get about an hour and a half from it. I only use it at night with the blinking mode as my set preference, and my trip is usually a 6km commute (30-45 mins), if I do not charge it before the next trip, the LED light dies out midway of the next ride.If there's an option to omit the LED light to reduce the buying price, then the cost performance would have been 5 stars.
