Incredible! Psychological Thriller at its Best.
MY SISTER IS MISSING is a WOW! – This book is RIGHT up there with the best of those psychological thrillers that have chilled and deliciously tormented readers until the very end. I was thinking initially of a twisty new take on SHARP OBJECTS, one of my favorite reads. But MY SISTER IS MISSING has its own chilling route to travel, and it will stun and shock you. Yes, this is the quality psychological thriller you don’t get every day: It is creepy and wonderfully unnerving! (I have already pre-ordered the author’s next book.)Emily reluctantly returns to her childhood home after a pleading telephone call from her older sister Madi. Although Emily associates the home with problems of her youth, she wants to see her sister (whom she hasn’t seen in years). Also, she wants to meet her sister’s kids, her own niece and nephew. But in her mind is a fear, and it is associated with the woods behind her childhood home. When she arrives, she learns that her sister’s husband has left her—but Madi says that this is not the reason she implored Emily to come. She tells Emily that tomorrow they will have a serious talk, and situates Emily in a guest room. But when Emily awakes the next morning, she finds that Madi is gone. Her bed has not been slept in. Her car is also gone. Emily does a personal check of the town, but Madi is nowhere. The most amazing part of this section is that the author conveys the terror and confusion that strikes Emily at her sister’s disappearance. I could really feel her despair, frustration, and worry. She is left alone, isolated with two children to care for, and the police think Madi may be a run-away Mom. But Emily's real shocks are yet to come.I cannot praise this book enough. This is the psychological thriller at its very best. The writing is absolutely first-rate, the plot is not predictable, and the feeling of stalking menace shadows the pages. Five Stars – and I recommend this one to everybody who enjoys some scares and thrills.

Interesting thriller, but not so creepy, etc
I found the concept very interesting and it keeps you wondering until almost the end as to what really happened to the sister. I would not consider it "the most creepy, fast-paced and gripping thriller of 2019". I enjoyed reading it and the character development. It is well written and it kept my attention throughout. I recommend it.

Okay+
This was a quick, interesting read, with several twists and turns in the various mysteries. The writing was generally good, and although there were a few things that bugged me, like a misused word or a highly improbable vocabulary for a three-year old, these rarely took me out of the story. I didn't find it particularly creepy or gripping, and it was not a 'can't put it down' book, but it was complicated enough to hold my interest. Better than okay.

Wild Ride!
As I’ve come to expect with Miss Lynch’s books, this is another story that’ll have you holding your breath, waiting for answers.Emily never wanted to go back home. For her, home has too many memories, both those she can remember and those she can’t. When her sister, Madeline, asks her to come visit, she feels like enough time has passed, and she’s ready to face her demons. At first, she’s not sure what she had been so afraid of. Then Madeline disappears in the middle of the night. Desperate to find her sister, Emily is plunged into not only her own secrets, but the secrets of the entire town.I think my favorite part of this story was how the plot was woven together so delicately with such complex characters. There wasn’t one mystery that was solved in the story, but two. Everyone had a secret, and I loved the way that separate demons worked in such harmony. I honestly didn’t see any of the ending coming. The person who I thought was the villain of the story wasn’t as bad of a person at all.Gripping from start to finish.Narration complimented the story well.

Great Swift READ
I came across this author and tried the story for a weekend read. Well, little did I realize, when I took a break, I was 85% finished! I am a fairly fast reader but, the ease of the writing made this unstoppable until I got to a virtual pause... Never came to one! It just made the pages turn into the next without losing its gusto! It wasn't the best book I ever read meaning no offense to the author...just a GOOD story with great little twists that kept me going and going ! I will follow and read Lynch's other books!

What a fantastic thriller!
This is definitely in the top 5 books so far this year! I loved everything about it!Emily comes back to her childhood home to see her sister and finally meet her niece and nephew. Her sister tells her that her husband has left her and she needs Emily’s help to keep the house. Emily agrees to stay for a bit. The next morning Emily is woken up by her nephew and her sister is nowhere to be seen. This is definitely a edge of your seat thriller. You know Madi is missing and slowly the pieces start to fall into place and a crazy tale unfolds. Did she run away? Was she killed? And who did it??? I was definitely reading as fast as I could to find the answer. And boy what a ending!!!! This was a fantastic book and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves a fantastic who done it!

Justice In the End
A gently weaved story with undertones of childhood behaviors that grow into adolescent’s emotions of jealousy, greed, touches of meanness, that result into tragedies. The small-town teens grow up, and the behaviors and actions of their early life are slowly revealed.Easy, quick read with a strong connective suspense thatis resolved with important lessons learned.

A good addition for any Thriler lover's library
Returning home after 9 years stirs up a lot of bad memories for Emily. Her sister Madie has a secret but needs to tell her in person. Meeting her niece and nephew for the 1st time, she spends a pleasant time with the family, but when she wakes up to find her sister missing and the police reluctant to help, she knows she has to do something.Emily was headstrong and even though she had not had much contact with her sister in a while, she knew that she had not just upped and left. Living in a small town where everyone knew each others business made her search more difficult as the majority of the town had the same opinion. This made her more determined to find out the truth. The author hooks you in from the start and from page one you are wondering why Emily has a fear of going home. As Emily investigates, more and more of their childhood is revealed and whilst Emily can remember a lot, her fear of the woods and the nasty scar still remains locked away. This is a fast-paced thriller and if it wasn’t for real life getting in the way I would have read it in one sitting. Emily’s character developed as more of her sister’s secret was revealed and her bond with her niece and nephew showed her what she was missing. Just as you think you know what had happened, the author throws another twist to keep you guessing. I can honestly say that I did not have a clue who was behind Madie’s disappearance. This is a well-plotted thriller and would make a good addition to any thriller’s library.Another good read by this author

nothing special
This story is a mix of psychological suspense, crime mystery and a social awareness and responsibility of, this time, bullying. The storytelling is accessible. I was drawn into the world the author created, the small town vibe, but was a bit disappointed since the characters are ones we've met before in this small town setting. The prodigal child returns and meets up with various people from her past- including an ex lover. The dialogue, for the most part, was pretty authentic. The plot, although I wouldn't say obvious, was predictable (after the fact) when you pay attention to certain clues. It has the requisite 'show down' near the end, sticking to the blueprint (which is so unoriginal and stale). Entertaining enough, solid enough writing, but nothing mind blowing. .

Gripping, with a twist.
This book kept me in suspense all the way through, just when I thought I knew the end I didn't. A good read.
