Kinky Boots

Covid taught us all some lessons, one of which was that nothing can take the place of getting OUT! Interactions and live theater and concerts and just enjoying life. But I've seen Kinky Boots on Broadway in New Orleans -- it's one of my favorite shows-- and I've seen over a hundred. This is a recorded version of the live play, on London's West End. Such a great show!! Cyndi Lauper is so talented -- the lyrics and music are phenomenal! Must see. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll be changed.

A fantastic, vibrant show filled with lots of emotion at both ends of the scale, superb character acting, great singing, lots of comic moments and lines, and exceptional choreography by all involved, especially by 'the showgirls'. Very well staged and a pleasure to watch over & over.

Kinky Boots is one of my favorite musicals of all time. No complaints really, if I had to have one, (a very minor one though), The role of Charlie was good, but I thought there could have been a better choice to play Charlie.

I was thoroughly impressed with Kinky Boots: The Musical. It is witty, creative, tearful, joyous, & uplifting with a message of acceptance & love. The Musical has elements not in the film like a boxing match btwn Lola & Don instead of an arm wrestling competition. Matt Henry plays the role with flair, fabulousness, femininity, & a natural tenderness, strength, & honesty. & he sings very well. Killian Donnelly as Charlie is also magnificently acted & sung to perfection. I've watched it 7 or 8 times in a 2 week span & am going to watch it again. I was very struck with Cyndi Lauper 's songs & Harvey Fierstien 's book. Kinky Boots is now my 2nd favorite musical of all time! After RENT.

If you’re like me and love live theater but don’t live near cities that national tours visit, these filmed stage presentations are awesome. This one is not the Broadway cast but perfect anyway. Including the audience in the film was genius as you feel like you’re in the theater with them.

I absolutely love this musical on Blu ray 💙I bought this from another place and it was so cheap. This is the full length show,the way it should be. Now if you could pleasetry to bring the 2017 Broadway musical War Paint to Blu ray, and have it available on Amazon, I will be so happy.

I had watched this on Youtube and was happy to find the same version on DVD! It takes you through the entire range of emotions. The dancers were amazing to watch doing flips and splits in high heels! I highly recommend this musical for your collection!

I have loved this ever since I first saw it on Broadway. This version is just as good as the one that I saw in-person. You cannot help but get up and dance when any of the music begins playing. All of the songs are so catchy. You'll find yourself subconsciously (and even consciously) humming/singing to yourself after you are really familiar with the music. The message is the most important aspect of this phenomenal show. You're beautiful! :) :) :)

We saw the original movie, the Broadway Across Canada live in Vancouver and this production on PBS and so happy to have the DVD to watch any time we like.Great production.

Loved this in all aspects; almost as much as I loved seeing it live. A local Am Dram recently did a production of it and it was good, but not a patch on this version!!!

I remember loving these words already back in 2016 when we had the Chance to experience Kinky Boots live on Stage at Adelphi Theatre. And the Power of Lola was iconic indeed. Therefore we had to have the DVD with London prime cast! Most enjoyable, but you have to experience ist yourself - „Ladies and Gentlemen, and those who have yet to make up their minds“!

松竹ブロードウェイシネマでの上映を観て以来、舞台全体から放たれる肯定と多幸感にすっかり心を奪われ、繰り返し劇場に足を運びました。英語字幕しかありませんが、繰り返し上映を見た記憶に頼りつつ、英語の勉強と思って観ています。マット・ヘンリーの華があってお茶目なローラはいつも目で追ってしまいます。エンジェルズと華やかに歌い踊るあまりにもかっこいい「Sex in the Heel」、繊細な「Not my father's son」、自らの人生を歩むと決めたような決然とした「Hold Me in Your Heart」。チャーリー役のキリアン・ドネリーの「Soul of a Man」の歌声にいつも圧倒されてしまいます。映像なのに拍手をしたくなるほど。それから、ローレン役のナタリー・マックイーンの細部に至るまでのコメディエンヌとしてのサービス精神と可愛らしさ！エンジェルズの美しさも圧巻です。ラストは何度見ても気持ちを引き上げてくれます。本当に素晴らしい舞台です。日本語訳版があれば周りにも勧めやすいのに…と思いつつ…それから、最後に、こんなことを言いたくはないのですが。三浦春馬さんが素晴らしい演者であることは論を俟ちませんが、この商品はウエストエンド版です。文章の内容の殆どが三浦春馬さんを褒め称える内容、あまつ「（三浦春馬さんは）本家を超えています」だなんて書いたレビューが、「ウエストエンド版のレビュー」として上位に表示される状況はおかしいでしょう。ウエストエンド版のキャストやスタッフにもファンにもあまりにも失礼ではありませんか。（「本家」という呼び方もよくわからないですが……初演はブロードウェイのはずなので）書いた方も、参考になったを押している方も、今一度考えてください。三浦春馬さんを悼む気持ちは理解しますが、ファンの方の傍若無人ぶりは目に余ります。
