Always carry one of these when traveling.
The DK Travel Guides are the best. Whenever I travel to a new destination I always purchase one of these. I really like how they breakdown the cities/countries into areas and then suggest walking tours throughout each area. Included are lots of pictures of what you may want to look for and some really good tips on restaurants and other sights to check out. Very informative and always interesting, also the books are easy to carry in your bag and pretty good at withstanding rainy or bad weather. Totally recommend these to any traveler.
