It's a strong, solid steel biner with a keylock nose. But do NOT try to use it with an Edelrid Megajul! This biner has a much thinner cross section than, say, a Petzl Attache. Meaning that it will compromise the Megajul's already relatively weak braking assist. I lowered a 120 lb climber by simply loosening my grip on the brake end of the rope, without even unlocking the device.I'm sure I can find another use for this biner.

Nice and sturdy. The locking barrel spins quite easily when locking or unlocking. I saw another post saying the lock barrel came loose during use. On mine, when the locking barrel is either in the lock position or the full unlock position (the two extreme screw positions), it engages the snap rings on the gate and is held very firmly in both positions. If you spin open or closed with any force, it takes a good deal of twisting force to get the barrel moving again. Posted pictures to show size of opening, which is about 3/4" at narrowest point.

These have held up better than the ones that came with my winch, have abused them and they've stayed strong, and shape fits well into average logging choker chains.

Super sturdy, smooth locker spins up or down with a good flick of the thumb. Not ultralight, but not as heavy as I expected.

I had one of the locks jam open on me. Otherwise they've been great... they're locking steel beaners, and do just what you expect.

I am a tree service contractor. We use every day for light - medium duty rigging applications. They're great and at roughly $10 per biner the value is high.

I mostly use this to position my rope and rope shiv into a working position. The screw gate is simple, the rated wait is overkill for what I am using. The Carabiner is large enough to hold runners and large enough to hold CM motor hoist hooks.
