Beautifully illustrated and imparting a hugely important message
This is a beautiful looking, huge, hardback book. A gorgeous turtle adorns the cover and the muted blues and greens are so pretty to look at.🌊Each of the pages in this book is delightfully illustrated; the Littles thoroughly enjoyed drinking in and discussing each ocean scene and pointing out various, familiar plants and sea creatures.🌊The narrative itself is well pitched to tell this serious story which explores the problem of plastic in the ocean, and the challenges facing marine life. This is a very topical story and I could see that the Littles understood the plastic problem and were very keen to further discuss this at the end of the story. This was assisted hugely by the helpful information pages at the end of the book - so much to talk about!🌊Beautifully illustrated and imparting a hugely important message; Little Turtle and the Sea is a fantastic picture book for all young children.

The story is powerful and yet is a lovely, sweet read too
Turtle travelled from where she was born across the ocean to her new home where she lived for many years until it was time for her to return to her birthplace. She loved the ocean and all the pretty sights, colours, and friends she met on her swims. Then one day that changed when strange objects arrived. They didn’t look friendly, they looked scary. The ocean was losing its bright colours. These strange items were plastic floating in the water. One day Turtle got too close to some of the plastic and now she is stuck on the ocean floor trapped. What can she do? Will she be saved?Little Turtle and the Sea is a beautiful picture book that teaches young children about the dangers of plastic in the seas and oceans. It shows them exactly what can happen to the animals in the water when the plastic is floating in their homes and educates the reader on how dangerous plastic is for the animals. The book has some amazing illustrations that capture the story and what it represents perfectly. I love how they change from bright, colourful pictures to dull, darker images when the plastic appears giving a visual indicator to children that plastic in the water is bad.The story is powerful and yet is a lovely, sweet read too. I can see it capturing children’s hearts and making them more aware of where their rubbish goes. Today there are a lot of books on plastic waste and plastic in the oceans and I really hope that the future generation grows up with the knowledge, understanding, and also the know-how to stop this from happening and save marine life from being hurt or killed.*I received a free copy of this book, which I voluntarily reviewed

Sweet but important
Follow Little Turtle as she swims through the sea, growing, learning and making friends. When human pollution starts to alter the watery world she loves, Turtle finds herself in terrible danger in her own home. But though human's caused the damage to her environment, they can fix it too, and are able to restore Turtle's world to one of colour, life and safety. This is a sweet but important story about the impact of human waste and plastic on marine wildlife. Little Turtle's world is bleached of colour when human rubbish invades. She becomes alone and trapped on a poignant page that will encourage readers young and old to think about the plastic they use and what they're throwing away.I really liked the factual pages at the end (which I've noticed in a few Little Tiger books now) as they answer all of the questions inspired readers will have, as well as directing them to other books and websites.Poh's artwork is wonderful and her under-water world is one I would love to visit. There's lots of colour on every page and my children enjoyed pointing to all of the little fish in the background.Thank you Little Tiger for sending me a copy of this picture book for review
