MUCH BETTER than similar products I've found EXCEPT the instructions should be clearer.
[ Preface: for those in need of help after purchasing these excellent wireless plugs, understand that if all you want is to press one of the 4 on/off buttons on this remote control to turn on or off up to 4 wireless plugs it will happen as easily as that, but you have to understand how to set this up. It's not complicated at all really... if you've already purchased and you need help scroll down below to " === HERE IS HOW TO SET THEM UP : the basic 4 (or less) wireless plug set-up === ]I found the manufacturer's instructions to be a bit incomplete with one error, and also needing clearer, more thorough directions. Once you understand these easy-to-use switches you will find they are BETTER than their competitor's remote control wireless outlets (at least the competitors I've purchased from or the many I've researched here on Amazon--and I believe I found them all as of August 2018).First, these switches operate at considerably higher volts and amps than their current competition, which for me means I can use them for appliances that draw more power without quickly ruining them (i.e., my 10000 BTU window air conditioner requires higher voltage/amperage levels than other popular wireless outlets can handle--I know I've burnt out about 5 of them, but not this Ankuoo SD5001). BTW, also bear in mind that if your device has a motor make sure it doesn't require more power at its power-on moment to get started because motors can sometimes draw somewhat more power at that time.Regarding clearer instructions, hear's some insight:First, the included instruction sheet is confusing. Its most important instruction states under #2 that "code and channel numbers need to match before operating." Most people will think this means that the code number and the channel number need to be the same number, but that's not what the manufacturer means by the word "match".What the instructions should have stated (at least those that came with my August 2018 purchase) is that each wireless plug has two dials to set the code and the channel number for each plug and that these numbers must match the handheld remote control's code (push button numbers on front of remote) and channel numbers (the slider switch on the back of the remote). I will restate this more clearly further below......before I do let me just add that the instructions include an illustration of the dials with a close-up view that includes text which is incorrect for each of the dials (these two separate text lines should trade places with each other in order to be under their correct dial). Here's a clearer look at all this along with a bit of product information:The front side of the remote control for these wireless plugs has 4 sets of on/off buttons. Unlike the competitor's remotes, the back of this remote control also has a sliding switch for setting this system's 4 CHANNELS (though you might need a magnifying glass to read the slider switch's tiny Roman numerals).By the way, having channels is a big bonus for those who want to use up to 16 individual on/off wireless plugs with this single handheld remote control, BUT most people will purchase no more than four SD5001 wireless plugs and for the sake of simplicity, will operate them all individually on the same single channel (because each channel can include up to four wireless plugs)......this will ALSO mean that for these people (with four or fewer wireless plugs), they can leave that slider switch on the back of the remote control set to the same channel number forever and never have to bother with it again (you might want to tape it permanently in place so it doesn't get nudged).===== HERE IS HOW TO SET THEM UP ...the basic 4 (or less) wireless plug set-up =====On the back of each wireless plug the top round dial sets the wireless plug's channel to either channel I II III or IV (push the dial in and turn it using a small screw driver --notice the top dial is in Roman numerals and remember these channels correspond with the channel slider switch on the back of the handheld remote control); the bottom dial sets the wireless plug's "code" number that will correspond/communicate with the handheld remote's set of on/off sets of push buttons, either 1 2 3 or 4 on the front of the remote control. So, for example, if you have 4 wireless plugs (i.e., one each for your radio, fan, lamp, air conditioner) set each plug's channel dial (the top dial) to Roman Numeral I ...to repeat, that's Roman numeral I for ALL FOUR WIRELESS PLUGS, but then for setting the bottom dial "code" number on each of the plugs, set them each to their own individual number from 1 - 4 ...remember, these individual numbers will be the individual number you push on the front of the handheld remote control to turn on/off your radio or whatever is connected to the plug.Lastly, on the back of the handheld remote control, set the slider switch to channel I (that's Roman numeral I ) and you're all set. With 4 plugs all set on the same channel you won't have use the slider switch on the back of the remote again (be careful though not to accidentally bump into the slider ...maybe tape it down ...the manufacturer really should have put that switch on the side or the front of the remote.TO RECAP: in our basic (4 or less) wireless plug example the top & bottom wireless plug dials should now be set to: I-1 I-2 I-3 I-4 and the slider switch on the back of the handheld remote should be set to I (that's Roman numeral I )....Now, if you want to set up more than 4 wireless plugs, keep reading (plus there's some worthwhile technical remote control info)...To add a 5th 6th 7th and 8th wireless outlet the next available wireless plug dial set-up would be II-1 II-2 II-3 II-4 and to operate them you would have to use the slider switch on the back of the remote to switch set to channel II (and, of course, you'd set that same switch back to channel I in order to operate wireless plugs 1 - 4).You can have up to 16 wireless plugs (up to 4 per channel) BUT you can have more so long as the 17th (or more) shares identical dial settings with one of the first 16 plugs (i.e., when you always want to remotely turn on and off two fans at the same time but they're so far apart they each require their own wireless plug, you can set them to the same dial settings and they'll turn on & off together ...also, of course, always bear in mind you can't add too many plugs to any one electrical circuit before your circuit hits its limit and blows a circuit breaker........Regarding CIRCUITS: these plugs appear to work seamlessly across all circuits within one electrical panel (meaning one residence)... and you'll have to check with the manufacturer as to whether you can purchase and add extra remote controls to the same group of wireless plugs, but it seems likely. Also read A. Krumm's excellent review (July 2017) for safety information & remote control info --if allowed, I am including it quoted below:"Love these, When added to a Raspberry Pi, a 433MHz wireless transmitter, and Home Assistant they became smart and Alexa comparable.Instructions can be found at Home Assistants website or a video on BRUH Automation YouTube Chanel. As for quality when I inspected inside the unit I found an off the shelf AFE relay rated at 15 Amps for 125 VAC and 12 Amps for 250 VAC, I wold not recommend using the full 15Amps for safety, but 10 or 12 Amps should be fine for most people."

Perfect Solution for My Garage Pro Shop Vac
My Garage Pro Shop Vac is mounted on a wall in my workshop, at ceiling height. I have it plugged into a switched outlet, but it was very inconvenient to reach the switch to turn it on and off. I wanted to get a remote controlled outlet, but I was worried about the amps the vacuum draws. According to the plate on the vacuum, it draws 12 amps. Most of the remote control outlets I saw were rated at 10 amps max. I talked with my neighbor, who is an electrician and he told me to get outlets that were rated for 15 amps or more, because you only want them to use 80% of their rated amperage. I found these outlets, and after reading through the reviews these seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. They came today. I set the outlet and remote so they will work together (the instructions aren't the best, but they do tell you exactly how to do it. I plugged it in, plugged the vacuum into it and hit the "ON" button on the remote. It works perfectly! Now I'm trying to figure out how I can use the other two outlets in my workshop!

Ankuoo vs. Etekcity: Ankuoo Wins
Ankuoo REC 1800W 15 Amp Wireless Remote Control Electrical Outlet Switch with LED Indicator, White I tested the Ankuoo REC 1800W 15Amp outlets against Etekcity ZAP series. Hands-down, Ankuoo is the winner. Here's how:Pros:- Smaller size, but still blocks the second outlet like Etekcity- Better looking - it may be just me, but I liked Ankuoo's rectangular profile over Etekcity's bulging at bottom- 15 Amp rating compared to 10 Amp rating with Etekcity- Code selectable, although I did not try this- Good range- Nice and brighter indicator light on front than Etekcity ZAP outletsCons:- No manual control button like on the side of Etekcity ZAP outlets- Remote is less ergonomic with the buttons all stacked towards the topNeither of the cons is a deal breaker for me as I intend to use them with my Hook smart home hub (Yes, they work with the Hook hub) and Amazon Echo.

Unique product for my needs!
I bought this to control remotely my 1500 Watt heater in my basement from upstairs. It works perfectly. Just as advertised. I've called the company requesting a second remote, without having to buy another whole set. Their very nice employee, Leon, promised a while back to try and help me get one, but I haven't heard back, YET! It is a great product though!Follow up! 12/27, 2016-Leon followed through. Nice guy! One reviewer who did their review after mine, suggested the remote control/switch function was unnecessarily complicated. This reviewer misunderstood the advantage of having four "code sets" and "four channels." This is an "advanced" offering, which gives the system flexibility, but does not have to be used! In theory, a single remote could discretely control up to 16 different switches, which almost no-one will ever need, of course, unless they become Ankuoo enthusiasts and wish to have remote sets in four places in the home, which don't interfere with each other. If not tampered with the included switches are preset to positions 1, 2 and 3. My only complaint with this is that four switches are not offered in any packages for the four "channels" on the remote.

Very useful 15 Amps remote control - outlet switch set
I got this set for my garage workshop to remotely switch on and off different tools and shopvac. With 15 Amps these are able to handle any tool I have, including table saw, jointer, planer, dust collector and any other tool I use.It comes with one remote control and 3 switches, even though the remote has four pairs of on/off buttons, meaning it could control four switches. Anyways, the item description clearly mentions this, so you know from the start what's included.Adding pictures is not worth since the items are exactly as shown in the product page.I highly recommend this set to anyone needing to remotely start/stop tools and doesn't want to go towards smart-plugs.

Good range, says good for 15amp
Good range , says good for 15amp, have not pushed it quite that far yet. One wish was that the plug would rotate to make it easier to plug on power bar, but not too big a deal. Comes with mini 12volt battery for remote. Red LED light behind plastic to let you know plug is hot. Instruction sheet was not that clear about which indent on adjust is the "arrow" You select I II III or IV for group code, and while there is three units in box you can designate them 1-2-3 or 4.

All plugs only work on one setting
3 Plugs - 1 remote with 4 settings - I am completely puzzled as to why there are 4 different settings and4 different buttons on the remote but all three plugs have to be on the same setting work. Not as usefulas I had hoped.
