Quietly Intriguing
This book is a gentler, kinder paranormal story than many written today. Addison and Luke are surprisingly normal. They are decent people, kind, accepting of others and believing in the hereafter. The fact that Addison’s house is haunted does not send them screaming into the hills, but rather motivates them to solve the murder mystery that is holding the spirit there, even as it puts their lives at risk. Well done.

A Haunted House, A Murder, and a Ghost That Will Not Rest
Addison Lockhart inherits a house from her recently deceased mother. GRAYSON MANOR affords privacy and a new start, two things Addison craves. She quickly decides to relocate, fully aware that the home will need some TLC. She hires Luke Flynn, a hunky historical renovation architect, to help restore the deserted residence to its former luster, but is anything ever that simple? Not when the supernatural is involved. One night spent in the old place is enough to convince Addison that she’s made a mistake in moving to Rhinebeck, New York. There’s something inhabiting the manor … something with a story to tell about buried secrets … and murder. And the entity is none too quiet about insisting that the truth be uncovered. Addison finds herself a reluctant recruit to unlocking the grisly past. What she discovers is a decades old mystery about an actress that disappeared. As Addison follows the trail of what really happened, it leads straight back to family secrets of her own. These are just some of the elements of GRAYSON MANOR, a cleverly written tale of suspense and mystery. Cheryl Bradshaw does a wonderful job in tying in and taming a whole lot of story into a smooth-flowing, enjoyable read. Bradshaw also manages to create very memorable characters along the way. Characters such as the likeable heroine, Addison Lockhart. Addison’s psychic powers are given a double-edge sword treatment. The complexity adds depth to this suspense-filled thriller. Is conversing with spirits a blessing or a curse? Addison quickly finds out as she’s plunged into the sordid tale of a missing film star. The addition of old Hollywood is a nice touch in lending atmosphere. The glamorous era is evocative and sets up a nice excursion into the glory days of studio systems and passions gone awry. In fact, Cheryl Bradshaw is excellent at adding these types of flourishes that round out and complete a picture. It helps sink readers into the story and explains why I sped through the pages, becoming fully vested in finding out what the heck happened to Roxanne Rafferty.I love stories about haunted houses, ghosts, and things that go bump in the night, so GRAYSON MANOR had my name all over it. Bradshaw does a terrific job of putting her own stamp on things. There’s a quiet confidence created by the author that assures you that you won’t be let down—and you won’t. There’s also a nice tension that’s kept up throughout. I definitely recommend this book for those who like their mysteries bathed in the moonlight of the paranormal. There’s a reason Ms. Bradshaw’s books are so popular and I suggest you find out for yourself.

Stupendous!
This is my second book by this author. Her writing is absolutely amazing. I started this book today and I finished it today. Her writing leaves you at the edge of your seat from start to finish. There are some twists and turns in the story to keep you guessing. The author has written this story so that is is good for mature teens on up. This is one sign of a fantastic author who does not need to rely on sex scenes to have a good story. The story is a mystery which contains mysteries. Yes, I do know this sounds strange, but when ever you take family history back a fist full of decades, there is always a secret which unfolds more secrets, which unfolds more... and so on. I will confess this. I love ghost stories, and when you mix it with the gift of vision, this makes me even more interested. It is a well written story that is well detailed, and well explained. This story is a Book 1, so I can't wait for the next in the series. Oh, and before I forget. This story does not make us suffer through 1-2 chapters of details for groundwork. It starts with the story right off and the details are unfolded as the story progresses. Don't know about you, but to me this makes things much easier to understand. The characters are really great! They are well written and detailed. They are believable and easy to relate to. While I do like Addison best, you just have to give hunky Luke a few points here too. Some may say they can't relate to the characters in this story, but they are not projecting back to decades ago in the film industry and what type of people they were back then. All in all, I absolutely LOVE this story and I do believe you will too.

Great story of Allison Lockhart book 1
Having finished the Sloan Monroe series by author Cheryl Bradshaw which I loved I was interested to see what the series of Allison Lockhart would be like. I recently discovered the Haunting Danielle by Bobbi Holmes which I fell in love with. Well this series with Allison is great. It grabs you from page one, how would you feel if your mother Nancy Lockhart was recently killed in a car accident and you find that you have inherited a home in Rhinebeck, NY from a grandmother you didn’t know exist. Allison arrives to a home much in need of renovation called Grayson Manor. Of course there is a hunky carpenter named Luke Flynn, you just know where the story is going. Who is Marjorie Grayson and how is she connected to the disappearance of her husband Norman and movie start Roxanne “Roxy” Rafferty? What would you do if you walked into a home and discovered you had a sense of a spirit? Then to realize that you have had this “sense” since you were five but your Mother treated you like there was something wrong with you, dragging you to a psychologist and forcing you to keep these feelings hidden. Would anyone believe you now if you were to tell? Should you trust Luke with your thoughts and sightings? The first in the series centers around finding were Roxy’s body is and how can you be free to go. The entrance of Medical Examiner Lia McReedy has you know that another great story will follow.

Great Mystery
Addison Lockhart is grieving over her mother’s sudden death when she decides to move away to her mother’s childhood home she has inherited so that she isn’t constantly reminded about her mother. There, strange things start happening to her, reminding her of the unusual events that happened to her as a child, things nobody else believed even happened. Favorite characters are Luke and her father. Quite surprising conclusion.

Great start to a new series
I’m a big fan of the author’s writing, especially the Sloane Monroe series, so it was great to read something different. The story starts when Addison Lockhart moves into the remote and dilapidated manor she’s inherited from her mother. Right away, you know there’s a dark secret to be uncovered. Was someone murdered here long ago? With the help of her architect and builder, Addison begins to piece together the mystery and the events surrounding the disappearance of movie star Roxanne Rafferty, who appears to be haunting the manor.Addison is a likeable and resourceful character, driven by a need to unlock mysteries from her past and solve the disappearance of Roxanne. The tension builds slowly and steadily from the start. The danger increases as Addison digs deeper and finds her life and future in the manor threatened. Then the revelation of an old family secret catches her off guard. Can she recover to solve the mystery and lay the ghosts to rest? The story was well-written, engaging and kept me intrigued from start to finish. The paranormal element of Addison’s character was deftly and realistically handled without it taking over her investigation of the mystery.I’m looking forward to discovering how her character develops in the next book in the series.

Chills and thrills
In Grayson Manor Haunting, Cheryl Bradshaw explores a variation on the cosy mystery/thriller form she has become known for. Addison Lockhart is a young woman looking for a new start and thinks she has found it in the manor house inherited from her recently-deceased mother. Once she moves in though, a latent psychic sensitivity from childhood reasserts itself as she encounters the ghost of a Hollywood starlet who may have been murdered.Grayson Manor Haunting is a mystery as much it is a paranormal thriller or ghost story. The author’s previously demonstrated skills in setting up twists and turns are well employed as Addison searches for the truth behind the spectre of Roxy Rafferty. The readers is kept guessing and the pages keep turning, which is what you want from a good mystery novel.Compared to Sloane Monroe, Addison comes across as a distinctly different character. She is more a victim of circumstance than a professional investigator to start with and more of an outsider as well because of her psychic gift. She does develop and come to terms with herself somewhat as the story progresses but it will be interesting to see what direction the character is taken in future books. The author’s economic and concise prose, which does not abandon richness in favour of sparseness, remains a joy to read. It serves Grayson Manor Haunting particularly well in the supernatural scenes as choice phrases are used to convey atmosphere without overburdening the reader with an excess of description. There are chills here to match the thrills.Grayson Manor Haunting sits at a perfectly balanced meeting point between the cosy mystery, thriller and supernatural/paranormal genres. If that sounds like your thing then I recommend you pick up this book today.

Great mystery book
It's a long time ago that I read a great haunted story. I was not sure to get it but it was free, and I was surprised that I liked it a lot. Very well written with a good plot with twist. It was liked that the paranormal part was not overly extreme, lot of books are not believable because it's to much. But the story was believable and build up quite nicely.I only wished there has been more conversations with her grandmother and her father, I found the interaction to short and not detailed enough.Same with the interaction when she stayed with Luke's parents, I would have liked proper introduction with detailed conversation, as well more details on the surroundings it was somehow cut short. The main character always was appearing somewhere without how. I would like to get the next one, but find it a bit overpriced for the length of the book. Thanks to the author for a great mystery. Have enjoyed it.

I Really Enjoyed This
I really enjoyed this supernatural-type tale a great deal. Oftentimes I've tried a book like this that has to go way too far into the realms of fantasy and that's where I switch off and end up packing them in.Only at one point did something happen when we were done and I thought "Here we go-it's going to get daft now" but the author clearly drew back and didn't carry on in that vein. For that I'm extremely grateful as by then I was 60% done !There were fewer mistakes in this book by her as well although once again, because the author asks to be advised and does provide her books for download free, I will email her the few I spotted as it's the least I can do.I did make a note when a 5 year old Addison nicknamed a psychologist Doctor Death as I don't believe any kid that age is THAT precocious but that's just my opinion.I'd certainly like her to use Addison in further stories.
