This is not black polish....
The color looked black on the phone but was dark brown in person. Pretty color but not what I wanted. There's no return policy bc it's considered a flammable liquid so I was stuck ordering another polish, I went with a different brand with a more definitive black.

Nice Polish, But the Color Was Wrong.
I love the idea of nail polish that isn't deathly ingredients in a teeny bottle, so this really appealed to me. I thought the idea of Cacao or cocoa would be very attractive on my hands, so when it arrived, I immediately put some on. After the first nail, I noticed something wrong. I then used the polish on every other nail, so I could compare the color to what this looked like to me.I didn't say anything, but when I went to dinner, my husband and daughter asked me why I was wearing black nail polish when it wasn't Halloween. I held my hands under a strong light and asked them to see if there was any difference between the colors. The answer; "Nope, they're all black."When I told them that one was Cacao Brown, we all took a look at the nails under the light again. This time, I couldn't tell which nail had which color, because they looked alike. After dinner, I got to see how well the polish removed (okay, got stuck under the cuticles)The polish has been put away until Halloween.

2-3 coats
This is not a bad color, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a regular nail polish that’s this deep of a brown take more than one coat before… I would be okay with two as I consider that normal, but this one took me three coats to get to full opacity (you may be able to get away with two coats if you like how it looks, but I personally thought it looked better with the third) - and then it started chipping within 12 hours. It’s just a bit disappointing to me. I do like that this line of polishes is plant based but still feels like regular nail polish, and I was hoping that this polish would help inspire me to use brown a little more, since that’s a color I don’t use often. But, on top of requiring three coats, this polish basically looks black on - and a three coat black polish is even worse than a three coat brown polish.

Beautiful rich colors! No horrible smell!
I am loving this new Good.Kind.Pure. line from Sally Hansen! Beautiful saturated colors without the typical nail polish smell! When I first opened the bottle, my initial thought was it is a bit thinner than my other polishes and I was afraid it would not offer the coverage I wanted. But boy was I wrong! The flat style natural bristle brush covers your nails in two swipes and dries super quick! Two coats was all I needed. It covered very well and did not leave any streaks or bare patches behind. The color I chose is called Warm Cacao (151) and it is super fun for fall It's a very dark rich reddish brown shade, somewhere between burgundy and black. I love it! I have it on bare nails, meaning no base coat or ridge filler and I did not use any kind of top coat. I have deep ridges in my nail so I usually do employ a ridge filling base coat, but I always like to test drive new nail polishes alone and directly on bare nails to see how they really hold up. This way I can accurately assess the polish and not my base or top coat. I am very hard on my hands, gardening, cooking, cleaning etc. So far I am happy with the way this Sally Hansen Good.Kind.Pure Nail Polish is wearing. It is not chipping or thinning away from the tips, but for my nails, this polish performed better when I paired it with both a base and a top coat. You just can't beat Sally Hansen for great quality nail products at a fair price. All in all, I am happy and will look for additional colors from this Pure line. I am pleased with how quickly it dried and how it is wearing, plus I love that it doesn't make my whole house smell like a nail salon!

3 coats for best results
The Warm Cacao shade is a very dark brown and in my opinion has just a hint of a burgundy like undertone. I applied two coats to my fingernails and on each nail there was just a tiny speck where you could still see thru. It's really not that noticeable to anyone other than the person wearing the nail polish though. If you are more of a perfectionist when it comes to your nails, three coats is probably best. The nail polish lasted about 3 days without any chipping but that's without me applying a top coat. I find that to be on par with other brands of nail polish although the size of the bottle (0.33 fl oz) is smaller than many other brands I own.

Goes on streaky, but builds nicely. Roll or shake the day before use.
Beautiful color, it is a dark chocolate that has an underlining hint of oxblood. I did have to use 3 thin coats, this goes on a bit blotchy at first, but with that last coat it was great. I did get some bubbles after shaking it in my ProShaker, and they transferred in the polish to my nails, even after several hours of rest, so I suggest that if you use a shaker, do it the day before applying to the nails for this particular one or you may get bubbles like I did. Dry time was average and these make me look uber white. I've added 2 bottle shots, for comparison under very bright light so you can see this vs. on the nails. Wonderful brush, was easy to apply.

Nice dark cocoa color, but needs 2 coats get the real color
The title of the review sums it all. Below are a few things I've observed- the color of this nail polish is really nice, it is dark chocolate color something I've never used. It's actually very close to black- it needed 2 coats of nail paint to get the real color and for it to be opaque. If you want a darker shade, you've got apply a 3rd coat- have tried to remove it from hands with a remover and it was fairly easy to get off- observed that it dried quite quickIt will last around 2 days if you've applied 2 coats. If you want it to last longer, recommend a top coat.Overall, recommended purchase

It's a pretty color.
Sally Hansen’s vegan nail polish is interesting. This is the second one I tried. I definitely love the color (it is somewhere between chocolate and plum-Warm Cacao, 151). It has a nice applicator which allows you to apply the polish smoothly. I applied two coats for better coverage. The only thing about this polish is that it has a matte-like finish to me. Personally, I like my nails to shine, especially when wearing a dark color so I just added a really shiny clear polish (top coat).

Chips very easily
Chips very easily, even with 3 coats.Okay consistency and easy to apply, not too messy or drippy but needs more than 2 coat.Easy to remove.Mild smell, not overpowering.Wouldn't buy again honestly, there's better cheap brown nail polishes around.
