Kyle Books How to Listen: Tools for opening up conversations when it matters most

Much needed and extremely well written.Reading it again as covers so many interesting aspects of language, psychology and communication. The worrying fact is that we are probably getting worse at being able to do one thing at a time and we rarely listen properly to anyone.

I bought this book because I am a listener for the Samaritans but it is so beautiful to reed I can recommend it to everyone just because you “ care” enough for your friends and family .

This was bought for giving it to someone after I bought one for myself. I was waiting for a book like this to be written by Samaritans for a long time. They are truly providing a good listening ear and I wished they could influence other professional services and organisations to improve their support for people who need. As it is described, not all contents are relevant to the readers though this book explains why human need to be listened as well. From my own experience that lending a listening ear is not easy as yourself have to have time and patients (capacity), and most importantly, not to take over the conversation or giving advice.

Yes, a good book and worth the 4 stars. One star less because I've read a lot of similar information in academic papers. But, worth the money.
