This tray is of surprisingly sturdy plastic at the base. The rods are also thick enough that I can lift my group 27 deep cycle battery by the tray tie know knobs without fear of breaking. Only the top tray is a little flimsy, but does its job flawlessly. Would be 5 stars if the battery was of a tight fit on the base, however I have about 1/4" play on the side and on the front, which means under severe movements, the battery can slide around the tray. Can easily be address by inserting shims of whatever scrap materiel you have laying around tho. The ridge of the base is high enough to keep them tight against the battery. I think they did so because some high end AGM batteries such as North Stars can have a slightly bigger base (more material to make the battery housing stronger) so it would accommodate all of the BCI27 batteries out there. Would be a concern if I was using it on a boat going trough rough waters or seas, but on the floor in the middle of a car, it's all good. Best tray for the price, worthy he $20ish price tag.

This is the third replacement. Unfortunately it’s the best there is but...the base break. I have two in my boat for group 27 batteries . I have to replace at least one every season. I’ve mounted them both ways parcelled and perpendicular to the boat and made sure they’re tight always. But they crack right around the tie down hole . But it’s the only choice .

Bought three of these for Marine use on group 27 batteries. The product comes with long bolts that reach from base to top. The bolt is not long enough and will not reach.

We used these for our installation in a Parker center console and they are secure even with the demands of fishing in heavy seas offshore.

The description and reviews say this works for group 27 batteries. The rods supplied with the two I purchased are not long enough for group 27 batteries.
