Bad product. Good luck fixing it!
Generally a high quality product. Materials are good quality. Template is accurate. Instructions are decent, though the pictures are pretty bad. Beware that the leather bags are not as stiff as fiberglass bags, so latching lid to bag is not as well-matched as rigid bags. It may take some inner shell to keep the shape proper for this latch to work as intended.Update: I installed these shortly after purchase, then waited to use them until after an injury healed. After about 2 months of use, most screws loosened up and the backplate started weakening. I have tightened it so many times that the heads were stripped so had to replace them. The backplate is not strong enough, and bent outward. I unscrewed it, straightened it, and reinstalled, but it bends easily now, so is effectively shot. One of the barrel locks got stuck in the half-way position, and so doesn't accept the key, making that bag unlockable. If you buy this, plan on fabricating a new set of backplates out of stronger material. Also go out and buy some star washers or lock-tite to keep the screws tight. They will outlast the warranty, which is 30 days.Update #2: I couldn't buy the needed parts and didn't want to give up on these, so bought an additional set. I replaced all parts and even it more reinforcing nuts/bolts along the weak metal plate, and have problems with both of the new ones. On one, the plate still bent and the latch won't grab the post. It is not an skignment problem; it is weak metal that doesn't stand up to the latch. The second one is currently locked with my leather coat in the bag, and won't unlock. I've twisted and shaken it until the barrel key is starting to twist. Again, I was careful to assemble and align things properly. I'm going to have to cut it out, somehow without damaging my bag. VERY disappointing!
