Enjoyable and interesting read
Really enjoyed this book, its the second part of the Yorkshire Blitz Trilogy but would be fine to read it as a one off. Its a story of everyday life and love during the war and the bombing in Hull. A lot of research must have gone into the historical events of the war mentioned and the characters bring it to life in a real and captivating read.

I couldn’t put the book down and had a box of tissues at hand
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone, it reminded me of the stories my mum told me about the war how people looked after each other and opened the hearts and their homes to people who had nothing sharing what ever they had.Pulling together something we have lost in the years since the war. But I see it now with covid people helping one another.I was lucky to have a family like May’s we were the Davies my Nan was like May a strong woman.Maguires are just like a normal family that we could all relate to with the up’s and down’s of normal life and war being added to the mix. I can’t wait to read another of her books. Please keep writing.
