Make sure you have the correct ring.
So glad to see this product available. Now I am able to put the old presto back in use. There are tricks to getting the ring to fit, one is to make sure the ring track in the lid is totally clean, use a stiff small brush, another is to push the ring a bit back on itself just a bit when you are installing it. The ring appears to be too big, it is not. Be careful not to use oil when inserting as oil can deteriorate the rubber. This is not a quick job. Above all, make sure you have the correct ring for your cooker, model # on bottom of the pot, or on the handle base.

Incredible.
Incredible and many thanks to a company that supports it's products that are well over 70 - SEVENTY years old. My parents who are long gone, bought the Presto cooker in 1949. I remember Mom using it in the 1960's. Since then it was unused, stored away and forgotten. After cleaning it, I found of all places, you can get parts for it right here on Amazon. Using the guide still published on Presto's website, we've used it and it works as well as I'm sure it did when it was new.

Don’t give up! Installing a little rough, but worth it!
Review for: Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack (3 - 4 Quart) (09909)I have an old 4-quart pressure cooker my mom gave me back in late-70’s and I hated to throw it out! Yes, most reviews complain that the gasket too big, when actually it’s not! It took some struggling and a couple of big paper clips, but it went in. I put a couple of inches of water and brought the cooker to complete pressure and it’s holding its own (picture depicting the pressure). Don’t despair… you don’t have to throw out your old pressure cooker!

Thanks Amazon
My Presto pressure cooker is more than 40 years old. I thought it was done when the lid began leaking steam. I found the part number in the original manual. I entered the number in the Amazon search box and the replacement sealing ring came up immediately. The sealing ring was easy to replace and it fit perfectly. The pressure cooker is working like new again! Thanks Amazon.
