Review - Batman DamnedDC BLACK LABELBefore I jump into review I would like to shed some light on DC’s new initiative called DC Black label. Black label editions are comic book series which don’t have any connection with mainstream titles like action or detective comics. They basically are new stories or I should say new take on some of the DC’s main characters. They have some matured and deep stuff which some of the regular comic lovers may find difficult to comprehend. These are the following titles which is released under DC black label.Joker By Brian Azzarello and Bermejo, Luther by the same team, Superman Year One ,Batman Damned. They also released some previous titles under DC Black Label like All-Star Superman, kingdom come , batman white knight all star batman and robin and Batman Arkham Asylum. Some are released in TPB and some in hardcovers.Batman Damned - Non Spoiler ReviewBatman Damned story is penned by Brian Azzarello and drawn by L Bermejo. The series is originally released in 3 single comics as Batman Damned 1 to 3. These 3 further collected in a oversized Hardcover as a single book which released recently. The quality of this book is superb and you can feel it when you hold the book in your hand. It’s little larger than normal hardcovers and little bit wider in terms of its width. Dust jacket is different from regular and it’s kind of a parchment paper type with translucent material.Inside the just jacket is a full image of Gotham city with full spread.I give this book 10/10 in terms of quality.Story- Batman is badly injured and getting first aid treatment inside the running ambulance van when suddenly he finds his consciousness. He jumped from the van, ran into an alley and tried to contact Alfred. It’s not Alfred but Constantine who came to rescue him.Than joker found dead in Gotham river and police is investigating his possible murder. Batman also try to solve the case of joker murder. He doesn’t remember anything of the past night, what happened during last night and why he was so fatally injured. Constantine helps batman and several other characters appears in the story like Harley Quinn, Dead Man, Swamp Thing and one surprise character.Scenes from Bruce’s childhood are way different from regular comics. And some of the batman lovers may find it difficult to digest these scenes.Story is beautiful and so is artwork but one can find difficult to understand, once you understand what’s going on it will blow your mind. I don’t know about you guys but I re read some pages to fully understand the story.Climax of the book is probably one of the best climax in DC.Who killed the joker? How batman got injured? Is Constantine really helping Batman? And what about the climax? You can find the answers only after reading this beautiful comics. My rating isArtwork - 10/10Story - 10/10So the perfect 10 from my side.

Art at its best
I can keep praising on and on about the art of this book. Every bloodshed, every wrinkle, every hate and every pain is reflected in fine detail. The quality of the pages give a "want more of it" feel to your finger tips. The hardcover has a good design where the figure of batman is overlapping the transparent dust cover over the lit night city of Gotham. In short, you can't go wrong on this choice.

Es la versión censurada
Es la versión censurada y sin póster. Pero el comic en sí tiene muy buenas ilustraciones. Los materiales son de alta calidad

Decent read
A decent read but still makes sense to those who haven't read any batman comics before. art style was amazing and if not for the story the art will captivate you.

Breve qué con muy buena historia.
Me gusta el estilo de DC Black Label con historias muy maduras. Los colores y diseños del cómic se ven muy bien.
