I am an artist. I use this tape to mount my paintings onto mats. It is great! So is the price point. Try this one. It is much better than the more expensive tapes out there.

This is my second order of this tape. Great value, nice quality, easy to remove without tearing paper. I also like the very subtle lines which help me line up the tape with the edge of the paper.

UPDATE 10/15/23:I've decided to give it another star, because I've been using it alot for concertina books. It's very thin and acid free (!), so it's perfect for connecting sheets of paper on both sides of the seam. The tape's thinness allows for nice sharp folds.So yup, upgrade to 4 stars now, rather the the original 3 stars I'd given before. Now if it wouldn't rip a sheer surface layer off my cotton watercolor paper (160lbs/300gsm), I'd be buying stock. :)----------Original Review:I don't think this is artist quality masking tape -- it's way stickier than blue painter's tape and I think it will likely tear paper to shreds, so I've been afraid to use it as artist's tape. I am using it a lot, though, for various things so it's not going to waste. I am just reluctant to ruin my artwork, but a good bargain as regular masking tape.

It’s smooth, has a light texture which I like. Not too sticky and works well. I use it to tape my art prints on to the picture mats.

I was looking for a tape for stencil and masking purposes. I tested it on several watercolor paints and tilted the paper to make the wet paint pool in the bottom of the masked area. There are no leaks or seepage. I can easily remove the tape after leaving it overnight for the paint to dry without tearing the paper. Good product.

When I use it on acrylic paint paper it rips the paper.

I've always used sticky framer's tape for my art prints, and linen tape for my original watercolors. This tape didn't look right and the brand sounded sketchy. The price was right and I decided to try it out. It's wonderful! It's sort of like a cross between medical tape and masking tape. I often have to realign my prints within the mat window, and it's so simple with this tape. No residue and yet it holds perfectly. I highly recommend.
