We use this thermometer all the time. It reads quickly and accurately (we checked with a second, different type of thermometer). Since it isn't submerged in food, it requires no clearing -- a real bonus!

I have to say, that this digital thermometer gun is pretty awesome. I didn't fully know how useful this thing would be, but now I am having a hard time putting it down haha.Let me start with how well this thermometer gun is made. When I first opened the box I was pretty amazed with the quality of this thing. It is very solid and is obviously made to last. It is nice to see a company that takes pride in their product, that is very hard to find these days. The grip is very comfortable to hold and it is very easy to operate with one hand (it really is just like holding a gun).The display is extremely easy to read, pretty big and clear display. What makes it even easier to read is the nice and bright back-light that it has. I have a hard time seeing small writing and had absolutely no problems reading this at all. And a great feature is that there is a button to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius so there is no guessing how to do it, they really have thought of everything with this gun.It requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), and they are very east to install into the handle. it just pops open on a hinge, you put them in, and it closes tight. It couldn't be simpler.I love the range that this thermometer has, it goes from -58℉ to 716℉, that is huge! That makes it usable in just about any situation. I really can't think of a single bad thing to say about this thermometer gun. It works amazing, is extremely accurate and super simple to use. I couldn't ask for a better quality tool, I love it. If you are looking for a digital thermometer gun that is very well made and is very accurate, than I highly recommend this one. you won't be disappointed. I was not given this product for free. I paid the full price for it, and I have a little bit of a different opinion that most of the reviewers here who were given the product.PROS: It's very affordable and compact. It arrived very quickly in good packaging.CONS: If you are a novice to using infrared thermometers, this might not be for you. I am new to this. So I used the 12:1 distance to light size ratio. I even pulled out a ruler to make sure that I was measuring the proper distance and I got readings that fluctuated from 80 to 105 degrees. For me, that is not reliable.In an effort to see if I was just not operating it properly, I tried to make sure it was calibrated using the ice bath method. The reading that it gave me for the ice was 10 degrees to 50 F.I bought this thermometer for use in my aquatic turtles' tank. For me, the price was right, but the product doesn't seem quite up to snuff.

Does the job for us at Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels. We need to temp meals over the course of 3 hours about 3-4 times to ensure appropriate temps for the home delivered meals.This unit is easy to use and the price was very affordable and should we need extras, this will be my go to brand for Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels.
