ROCK BROS Men’s Mountain Bike Shorts with Detachable 4D Padded Liner, Hook-&-Loop Waist & Zipper Pocket Lightweight Baggy

These are my new favorite MTB shorts. Quality materials and workmanship, super comfortable and stretchy. One thing to consider: the description on the sizing chart states "we suggest that you purchase according to the size chart of the padded underwear" and that did not work for me, they came in too big, go with the size you calculate from the shorts, I'm a 34 and the Large was it. Customer support was excellent, they sent me a replacement of the correct size quickly.

I have been very impressed with these shorts... Good materials and comfortable liner, which is also easy to remove. I think its better quality then Zoic. However, the sizing is a bit off with these shorts. I normally wear Large in Zoic Ether and few others but because I read reviews I ordered medium. I am glad I did. I have 33 waist and these fit good. I am on the max end of the size for medium, but I think large would have been too big. My only 2 small gripes are pocket arrangement is not ideal, and I don't understand purpose of the Velcro straps on the ends of the shorts, maybe for folks with skinny legs ?? Overall I am impressed with this purchase. We will see if they hold up over time, but so far , about 10 rides, they have been great.

I have a large phone and the front pockets fit the phone and seem to hold it pretty securely, but I feel the phone hitting my torso every time I pedal. It's not bad, but certainly not ideal. No other pockets would hold the phone. Felt kind of heavy compared to the other pair of shorts I bought.

This is very high quality and comfortable biking short. It is not hot, but block a decent amount of wind on descents. I appears to be very durable. It is crazy to me that I’m wearing a $30 short with a $150 castelli jersey on most rides. The only thing I would suggest is getting a stitch puller and removing the velcro from the leg openings. It was bulky rubbing on my leg while pedaling and in not sure why you'd want a tight leg hole anyway? As you can see it was easily removed in 5 min without any residual marks.

I’ve tried many shorts over many years, the price for these drew me in. Too good to be worth it. The waist is way too high and the velcro on the hem is a strange choice.

Good fit

The rise on these shorts is very high. If I wore these around my hip there was an excessive amount of sag in the crotch. Not a desirable feature in shorts designed for biking as the extra material can get snagged on the point of the seat. Pulled up to eliminate the sag the waist was over my navel; not something I found to be comfortable. The waist fit was okay, I probably could have comfortably gotten a size smaller. This would not have helped much with the rise as it is less than 1/2" difference between sizes. I should note this is not my first pair of mtb shorts, and the rise is much higher compared to other simarly sized shorts.They seemed well made otherwise. Material appeared durable, but is rather thick; not the best thing in hot and humid places. Zippered pocket for securely holding small items like keys. The price is definitely attractive, especially given how expensive a lot of mtb shorts are, unfortunate these fit me so poorly. Maybe someone with a more athletic build that doesn't mind a high waist would find these a good purchase.
