My husband tried a wooden watch for the first time earlier this year, and was surprised by how much he liked it. So I asked him to try out this BOBO BIRD 2021 Men's Stylish Wood Watch. Overall, he really liked the look and feel of this watch, which he found beautiful and handsome on his wrist. Unfortunately, a few disappointments kept him from giving this watch 5 stars.Looking at the positives, the first thing that greatly impressed him was the packaging. The watch arrived in what he described as a sharp looking, wooden presentation box. He thought that this would make a striking looking gift. Next, in addition to the watch, he found that a small kit of items was enclosed in the box including directions and a handy bracelet resizing tool. The watch itself felt much sturdier than he thought a wooden watch would feel. He particularly liked that the watch bracelet combined metal and wooden links, both of which felt smooth and looked terrific together. The watch case and dial were the real show stoppers. The gray color scheme watch case and dial looked subdued, yet clean, modern, and sophisticated. The time was also easy to read, and the chronograph stopwatch and date functions worked perfectly. This watch had so much going for it, but a few flaws let down the watch.First, as the dial is a natural wood, there are bound to be some imperfections. One in particular that my husband found probably should have been noticed and smoothed out though. At about the 4:45 position, there is a small light-colored flake on the wood surface that makes it look like there's a piece of debris trapped under the crystal. Next, the watch bracelet, though beautiful, tends to kink sometimes which prevents it from laying flat. My husband had to work out the kinks in the bracelet links several times as he took the watch on and off. Finally, the 2-button push deployant clasp holds and releases well, but won't snap close when pushed together as it should. My husband had to hold it together and push the release buttons in order for the clasp to close all the way and the closure to engage. Having used deployant clasps on his other watches for years, my husband said it should not function like this and is likely some kind of manufacturing defect. So all in all, this is a beautiful and handsome watch, but some quality control issues kept it from being a total winner.
