As good a feeling as when I read it as a child👍Exciting, thrilling and full of adventure 🔥 for a children's mystery book!Has a lot of intrigue in the story line and the logical way in which the mystery gets unraveled, the book could almost be training content on how to be a good detective!No wonder that Enid Blyton had remained my all time favourite author 😊 all through my growing up years despite having read through the likes of Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Hardy boys, Nancy Drew, the adventures of Enid Blyton are clearly above them all!As they say, your first love is always your true love ❤️Well done, Enid Blyton 👍

My grandaughter , aged 7 is an avid reader. This book introduced her to The five find outer and she has never looked back, devouring every book in the series.

Ich habe das Kinderbuch hauptsächlich gekauft, um meine Lesefertigkeiten in der Englischen Sprache zu trainieren. Es ist erwartungsgemäß auf einem einfachen Sprachniveau, so dass ich es flüssig lesen konnte. Da ich die deutschen Übersetzungen der Serie als Kind sehr gerne gelesen habe, war ich auch einfach neugierig, ob ich heute noch etwas damit anfangen kann. Und ja, es hat schon was sehr Nostalgisches und hat schöne Kindheitserinnerungen geweckt. Natürlich waren die Namen der Kinder in der deutschen Übersetzung anders (wie früher eigentlich immer üblich), aber das hat mich überhaupt nicht gestört.Das Buch stammt aus dem Jahr 1943, spielt in einem kleinen übersichtlichen Dorf und natürlich sind wie stets bei Enid Blytons Kinderkrimis die Kinder stets der Polizei ein wenig voraus. Es macht einfach Spaß zu lesen, wie sie mit dem Dorfpolizisten konkurrieren. Dabei ermitteln die Kinder sehr fleißig, befragen Zeugen, suchen nach Spuren und verfolgen diese dann auch entsprechend. Und am Ende kommt die große Auflösung wie schon bei Agatha Christie und Hercule Poirot.Zwischenzeitlich habe ich mir schon die nächsten beiden Romane der Serie gekauft und bin gerade im dritten Teil. I have read the whole series and I couldn't put the book down for any of them. I love how there are always a list of suspects and they are always looking for clues. The only negative thing is that the language is old so wouldn't be helpful in an English exam!
