Excellent pedal for a specific type of user
I have several rides on these pedals now, and I think I know why they are a bit polarizing. They work great as either flat or clipless pedals, BUT not both at once when out on the trail. The trouble is that the flat side has terrible grip with clipless (cleated) shoes, at least with the Shimano shoes I ride in. The hard soles of clipless biking shoes just slide off the flat side of this pedal. If you think you can use both sides of this pedal while out on the trails, think again. It's not the compromise setup one might expect- you can't clip in and then use the flatless side for a dicey part of the trail for example. The flat side just won't hold your clipless shoes. The clipless side works great though. I've had no trouble at all clipping in and out, and at least for my set of pedals, there was no break-in period required. The flat side DOES work great with non-biking shoes. I've ridden with sandals, Pumas, running shoes, and boots. They all grip well and cause no problems. Like most (if not all) clipless pedals though, the clipless side is terrible with regular shoes. These pedals work fantastic for someone like me- I have just one bike, and I ride about 50:50 on nearby singletrack and on my 30 acre farm. I don't usually feel like getting out my cycling shoes if I'm just riding down to the mailbox, rounding up my pet pigs who roam all over, or just going down to the barn to get a tool or something. They are a compromise though as one has to sometimes search for the clipless side when on the trail, but I've gotten pretty quick on it. Overall, these are the perfect pedal for my situation, but I think you'll be unhappy if these are for the trail only.

Nice hybrid pedals
These are really nice hybrid pedals. they feel very solid and i like the look. My wife wanted to start riding clipless and these seemed like a good first set for her bike - she loves them so far and has found them very easy to use. I have ridden with hybrid pedals on my commuter bike for years - its nice to have the option to just hop on without your bike shoes, and you get used to the little flip move that you have to do to get the right side of the pedal facing up. I do think that commuting, touring or casual riding around town are the right use cases for this type of pedal.I find the knobs on the platform side grip a pair of sneakers just fine despite not being adjustable, although i havent tried them on any type of rough terrain. As other reviewers have mentioned the mechanism on the cleat side is VERY stiff out of the box and needs to be broken in. I put the bike up on a trainer and just clicked in and out for a while and it loosened right up without needing any additional lubrication and is fine now.

Great pedals
These pedals are on both of my bikes now. I wish the clips would have been standard, but I guess the Chinese couldn’t hack the bicycle companies for the patent.

Always go with the double shots!
I absolutely LOVE these pedals. When I first started road cycling I thought clipless was normal pedals and was a confused little man and was given advice from a local shop to use mountain bike shoes for the added comfort and I stumbled across the old version of these and loved them once I got used to them. Now that I am experienced, got a full carbon serious bike, I ripped off the pedals and went back to my roots, my beloved doubleshots. I ride hybrid I suppose? I love a good long tough ride to a new place, or to a lake, or a densely populated city where I can take a break, enjoy a view, find a NOT portapotty, and just kind of coast around using the flat side of the pedal and enjoy my destination. I mean on a road bike, you're still going to destroy your ankles on your crank with them because the shoes have no grip either way but at least I can do with a "little" bit more comfort. I'll honestly never use another pedal regardless of the bike I ride. Yeah I may have gotten stuck once, MAYBE twice and fallen over but that's part of the fun of running clipless! In all seriousness I've been cycling for a VERY long time, I've won races, everyone I've been in, in fact, and all done with these bad boys. Yeah yeah road shoes are stiffer but you know what? I'd rather have 20% less stiffness and 50% more comfort and that's what you get with these on a road bike with a nice pair of Giro's.For you road folks, try it, you won't be disappointed. I've proven they all work together more than once.

Great option for clipless and flat
Update: About to be a year with this and they are still holding strong. Added a picture of what they look like now off the bike. I have done some pedal strikes and you can see some scrapping and lost a pin but they are still holding up very well.I am not a pro or an expert, I just started MTBing last year. Yet I wanted to buy some pedals that had more grip but I didn't want to buy twice if I decided to go clipless someday. So I purchased these Doubleshot 3 pedals.I must say, it does take time to get used to. Especially if your foot comes off the pedal. You may step on the wrong side until you figure these out if your foot comes off. I ride these in tough terrain so my foot sometimes comes off the flat side when going downhill on a rocky area. I figured out that if your foot comes off, continue to pedal with the foot that is still gripped on and the other side will rotate back to meet your foot in the right placement. I don't know if that is what does the trick or if I am just used to them that it just became muscle memory. I just figured how to get my foot back and getting used to them.I do like the option to make them have more grip with unscrewing the flat side too. The little screws do give me more traction and this has helped with not losing my footing. Maybe getting better flat grippy shoes or clipless is next.

Great hybrid pedal
I am biased as I am a huge Crankbrothers fan. I was looting for a great hybrid pedal for my new bike and the Double Shot 3's were perfect as the non clip side is aluminium with adjustable pins perfect for my flat shoes the pedal size is a little smaller than my Chesters on my other bike but it does not feel any less stable or less connected. The other side allows me to lock in securely with my clip in shoes and does not feel any different from any other clip in only pedals. Great quality excellent buy!

Très bon produit
Conforme à la description, envoie rapide et soigné. Bon produit comme d'habitude chez CranckBrother 👍🏻 point négatif, un peu lourd pour ceux cherchant à alléger leurs VTT 😏
