We actually enjoyed this product. Can't speak to efficacy, but we are glad to have an alternative to processed sugar. We were annoyed to find that the bottle was only 2/3 full. We also ordered the Royal Dark brand, which was more costly. That bottle wasn't a full 8 oz. either, though it was fuller than HLN. The company sent us a follow up e-mail, so we responded with our complaint. They offered to send us two free bottles. At first, we didn't accept because we didn't want them to think we were scamming them for free stuff. After awhile we accepted their offer because we were really kind of miffed at getting shorted, and we figured these bottles probably wouldn't be full either. The replacements arrived in just a few days, and sure enough, they were not full bottles. One bottle was 2/3 full;the other 1/2. The syrup in the 1/2 full bottle was solidified. We reconstituted it with warm water but are not sure if its even any good any more. Question: were these bottles returned by someone else. If so, how in the heck did they get shipped like that in the first place? If not, how in the heck did they get shipped like that in the first place? So now we're up about a bottle's worth of Yacon syrup. we could order another bottle or two and come out even when they arrive less than full. After that we probably wouldn't risk it. Too bad, we liked the product. I've read reviews of other companies complaining about short bottles. Honestly, If we can hold the bottle up to the light and check the level, so can the purveyors. Pretty expensive product to pay for air.Update: Ordered a second bottle of HLN and one from Peruvian Pride. The HLN bottle held only 6 oz, whereas the Peruvian Pride was full. Gotta say though, I prefer the taste of HLN. HLN owner says she's so sorry about not providing a full bottle, and will have a word with her supplier. Hmm, this makes me wonder just how the supply chain for these products works. Who's doing quality control? What exactly is the quality control? Sort of against my better judgement, I've ordered a third bottle from HLN and we'll see what happens. Wish I could get this locally at Costco or Trader Joe's, where I could see before I buy. Maybe they can't find anyone with a consistent quality. Food for thought.Final Update: So the third bottle arrived, and contained only 6 oz. When the HLN follow-up email arrived, we let them know about being shorted again, but this time got no response. Now we periodically get automatic e-mails encouraging us to keep up healthy new habits (buy more Yacon), and sharing tidbits on the glory of Yacon. We reply that we're not reordering because we're tired of getting ripped off. No response. So that's the end of a not so beautiful relationship. Oh yeah, the latest e-mail requested a product review. Be careful what you wish for.

I've used several types of yacon over the past year. I like the taste of this one. The price is in the range of medium-high. OK, now I'm getting to the important part of this review (you knew it was coming), This yacon is mostly solidified when it arrives in the mail. I don't know what to do about this problem - is there a way to liquify it again? I know that exposing the yacon to too much heat will ruin it. It has become so diffiicult to get out of the bottle, I feel it may not be worth it. Right now my husband is cutting the bottles open for me, and then I just scrape out as much as I can. In case anyone wants to know, I have not lost any weight from using this product. It does settle an upset stomach pretty well after eating something that you probably shouldn't have. lol

Have seen no weight loss at all but bought it because of probiotic/digestive properties AND savvy marketing that listed a possible "side effect" of prolonged loss of appetite (untrue). That said, it is delicious and low cal. I love it in coffee. Someone recommended molasses could do the same thing cheaper but I tried that and the coffee tasted like baked beans; yuck. The properties I bought it for worked. I was always constipated; now rarely am, since starting this (2 months ago). Doesn't cause diarrhea, just seems to keep things running more smoothly. Someone else noted it settles thickly at the bottom. True; you must shake very vigorously or you end up throwing away 1/4-1/3 from settling. (I have used several brands, true of all.) Besides shaking and turning it upside down before use, when there is about 1/3 left, I add a little warm water and shake it up. It's a bit thinner but still delicious and you won't waste any.

I have bought several different brands of Yacon Syrup and this was the first brand that I really did not like. It is bitter tasting and just nasty. Every other brand was really sweet and tasty. Will try to stomach it down because it is really expensive. Other brands the problem is that halfway through it gets hard and you have to eat it with a skinny tool and scoop it out to get full value, and this was my first day with new brand so unsure of that concern, but trust me, there are way better tasting brands on Amazon than this one.

This has a lighter molasses type flavor. I got it hoping for the weight loss and that didn't happen. Maybe it takes a certain body chemistry for the weight loss and not mine since I'm over 50, female, and thyroid challenged.What this is good for - for my use anyway - is baking. It gives a wonderful flavor and isn't as dark tasting as molasses. However.....using it this way is NOT cost friendly. This syrup costs more than my face cream so if I have to choose we all know what'll win that battle (keeping cream on aging skin is important!).Anyway.....this is good syrup. NOT cheap, but tastes good. Thank you!

Though I didn't use as directed, this is a delicious substitute for sugar. Want more but a in bigger bottle.

Tastes like a blend of brown sugar & molasses. Yes, it gets thick & won't pour. I find that if I pour it into a container with a wide opening (so that I can dig a spoon into it) right away then I can dig it out a teaspoon at a time. The plastic bottle that it comes in can easily be cut in half to access the yacon stuck to the bottom. That way I get my money's worth. Also, the thick version can be licked off of a spoon like a lollipop... yummmm. Try blending it with coconut butter for a tasty, sweet treat.

This is by far the best tasting Yacon Syrup I have ever purchased. I will buy this brand again. I don't know if it actually works to speed up my metabolism but it seems to help.

Tastes better than the ofher brand I tried. As other reviewer stated, there is a lot of separation with a glob in half the bottle that is very difficult to get out.

I notice a lot of people say they have not noticed any weight loss and then say they use it for baking or to sweeten their tea or coffee.

Decanted into my 8-0z jar for about two hours and it was shy about an inch so I added heated water to the bottle, shook it vigorously, and got most of the solidified stuff out.

Taste great and has helped keep my weight off.

Did not see any results.

It's not as sweet as another brand I've tried. However it doesn't clump up like other brands either so I'm very happy with this product.
