Pacific LegendHawaiian Shirt for Men - White w/Floral Stripe, X-Large

So disappointed. I bought a Pacific Legend Hawaiian shirt back in 2005 and it was great! I still have it, but it's on it's last leg. The old one was a cotton blend that felt good to wear and it had a great design. Based on my last experience in 2005, I decided to buy 2 more shirts from Hawaiian Legend. They arrived when they were supposed to. I washed the shirts in cold water and dried them on casual setting on low heat. When I tried on the shirt it fit at the shoulders ok (I ordered XL), but shrank like crazy and is now too short - just barely covers my belt.Also, the shirt feels cheap to me when I put it on. Had I tried it on at the store, I would not have bought it due to to the feel.Looks like I'll have to keep looking for that great Hawaiian shirt that Pacific Legend used to make.In the meantime, the shirts I just bought will sit in my closet until I have a yard sale. Hopefully I can get a $1 for them.

In my 30's and feeling Aloha Friday these days so bought this shirt. If I can't go on a vacation now, why not go on vacation in my mind while wearing an authentic Hawaiian shirt? That being said, I LOVE this shirt! Fit me perfectly. For comparison, its fit and cut is similar to what I purchase at Gap and Banana Republic. So if you need a gauge, go there and try on a shirt. It's very comfortable (even on a scorching Texas summer). The color is vibrant. I will be keeping this for a long time. I only hand wash and hang dry - no washing machine and no dryer! Iron on cotton setting. Result is no shrinkage and maintains color. Many compliments.

I was asked to officiate the wedding of two great friends. I’m a Hawaiian-wearing machine through and through. Bride and groom both knew that’s what I’d wear, but I had to buy a blue one to match the wedding party. Pacific Legend makes a top quality shirt with vibrant colors that matched the wedding theme perfectly in every way. I had so… many compliments on the shirt! Nailed it!!!

This type of shirt is my office uniform in Honolulu. So I have a closetful of Size M from many different manufacturers, all of which fit well. So when I received the Size M from this seller, the length was OK, but it was tight around the chest, which is not how these shirts should fit. I measured it against a Size M from a different manufacturer, and it was longer but not as wide.I contacted the seller who suggested exchanging it for a Size L, but I was concerned it might be too long. She answered that 100% cotton shrinks upon washing/drying, so why not get the Size L and try it. I was a bit skeptical, and indeed, it was about an inch or so too big in length and width. Then I machine washed it in cold water, and put in the dryer, medium heat for about 6 minutes. After air drying, I measured it again, an it was almost exactly the same as my Size M shirts from other manufacturers. And it fits well.I ultimately got a good-looking shirt that fits well. Indeed I'm in the minority, as it looks like about 67% of buyers said "fit as expected". So my suggestion upon receipt of the shirt: measure it against a shirt that fits you well, before wearing or washing. Then take the shrink potential into consideration.

As others have said, these shirts shrink a lot when washed and dried in the dryer. I got a very large size and it fits my husband. I've bought two of these shirts because he likes 100% cotton, and I like the fact that they're actually made in Hawaii.When I washed these shirts the first few times, they came out pretty stiff and wrinkled. After a few washings, they come out much less wrinkled. I'm sure we'll buy more of these shirts.

Just got it yesterday. Washed last night. Came out of the dryer looking good.As per prior reviews it runs a little small. Normally a 2x guy. Ordered 3x and it's good. Can't figure out why they put those flaps under the buttons and holes. Not sewen down.Wearing this weekend to a carnival party. Will see how it performs.

My husband didn’t try the shirts right away, so my return window is closed.The bottom button whole is not sewn correctly, so the button doesn’t stay buttoned. He didn’t notice right away, I’m disabled so he does the laundry. He only wears for when we go out. Which isn’t much today!!

I bought two of these shirts, one white and one black, and wrote separate reviews but Amazon apparently considers it one product, so I am editing my review to include both. The white shirt came with dark buttons and I wanted white. I couldn't find ones I really liked so got some light tan but plan to keep looking. I was going to wear one of the shirts the next day and wasn't sure which so wanted to get each ready in case I chose it. On the black shirt, the buttons were medium brown and I didn't like them, either. I found some I really liked at my local Jo-Ann Fabrics, LaMode 29642. For those interested, you can find them online by going to buttons.com and doing a search for 29642. I am attaching a photo showing the black shirt with some original buttons and some of the new ones for comparison. On both shirts the pattern where the shirt buttons up matches perfectly and the pattern on the pocket matches perfectly the pattern behind it. They are very well made. I ended up wearing the black and got a compliment on it.July 6, 2016 - Someone asked about the backs of the shirts so I have added pictures of the backs of the two I bought. Very nicely done as to the pattern, it not only continuing across the back, but an extra band of flowers along the shoulders
