Stunning
My primary use for this monitor is gaming and general PC use or web browsing. I initially thought the 2560x1080 format was what I was looking for and purchased the 29" AOC Q2963PM. I found the display beautiful, but it was generally awkward for anything beyond gaming.I decided to give the Shimian a try, wanting to minimize HUD/UI elements in-game, and also wanting to step up to an IPS panel. This is a well-reviewed monitor on many tech websites, but all of versions I saw had a white bezel and back panel. I wasn't sure what to expect, but decided the price was worth the risk.Shipping was free via FedEx from Korea and arrived within 3 days. My only disappointment is that it ships in the retail box, but it did arrive unharmed. A couple of notes about items included in the box: a power brick and cord for a 240v wall socket are provided. The brick has a label that states it's able to handle 120-240v so I was able to plug in my previous monitor's cord into the brick and was good-to-go. An instruction manual is included, printed entirely in Korean which will do you no good, although you'll probably be fine without it.The monitor I received is exactly as pictured above. I'd describe the thin back as almost cast iron feeling (yes, it feels that sturdy) with a stunning piece of black glass attached to the front. It's crazy-thin and when wall-mounted using a VESA mount, only extends from the wall by about an inch and 1/2. Aesthetically, it's the most beautiful monitor I've ever seen.Powering the monitor on, I had no dead pixels (whew), but noticed quite a bit of light bleed on the top left and bottom left corners. This bothers me much less than dead or stuck pixels because I'm rarely staring at a pure black screen. On-screen menus, like the manual, are all in Korean, although a few of the settings are self-explanatory based on the images. I was able to change the color profile to sRGB without too much trouble. If there is an option to change the monitor language to English I didn't see it. (EDIT: Found it!)My impression of overall image quality and gaming at 1440p is that everything looks incredible. I noticed about a 10-15 fps drop do to the extra pixels needing to be pushed by my graphics card, but the quality improvement made this loss acceptable. I haven't noticed ghosting, although I rarely play FPS games where this might be more of an issue. I'd describe the look of motion to be a bit more cinematic looking--but maybe this is the definition of ghosting. Either way, I actually like the look.Wrapping things up, I highly recommend this monitor. I've heard that this is the same panel as Apple's Cinema Display (although one of their rejects since they only accept the A+ panels). Because of this, your mileage may vary. If you're lucky, you'll end up with an affordable and beautiful panel like I did. It's probably my most treasured piece of electronics right now if that gives you any indication of how impressed I am.

great monitor. Super fast shipping took like two days
great monitor. Super fast shipping took like two days. Few dead pixels to be expected. Buttons on back are super inconvenient, but not terrible for the price. My biggest issue has been the AC transformer which has been buzzing for a few weeks. Finally just popped open the case to see what it was and found the capacitor wasn't soldered correctly. Quick 5 minute fix - but seriously some shoddy work on the PC board.

Purchased, now broken
Granted this monitor is 1/2 the price of normal 1440 monitors, this is now becoming a royal pain. I purchased the monitor a month or so ago and in the last week I turn the monitor on to go do some research on the web and in the bottom 1/3 of the screen it starts flashing blue and acting all nuts! If there is a solution I'd like it, if not, this monitor is junk.1.You bet on it working upon receipt.2.Faulty unit.3.No dimming on a monitor that is SUPER bright!

Great IPS-panel in bad body
Great LG IPS panel with 100% sRGB and 80% Adobe RGB after calibration.But...Body is very weak.1. It comes with long (about 5 cm.) but not deep scratch at back side2. Screws looks like someone opened it before me.3. Front glass was mounted askew: at left side glass was mounted 1 mm over body, but at right side it was 1 mm lower.Seems like Display was not new. I think it was refurbished or so.And the worst is large yellow backlight leaks in 3 corners. With black filling it looks awfull. And this only comes larger after 2 weeks.Don't try to watch movies on this display. But for daily usage it very good.

As good as I hoped it would be
I shopped around alot (online at least), trying to get the best Korean 2560x1440 I could get for my money. I decided to get this on Amazon instead of Ebay for additional piece of mind. The price is basically the same anyway.I ordered it Friday evening. It was already Saturday in Korea. It was shipped from Korea on Monday (Sunday night here.) It arrived on Tuesday afternoon in Virginia. Shipping is very rapid. The monitors box was wrapped in a decently thick foam sheet. It would repel most accidental blows. It had UPS fragile stickers on it. These stickers mean nothing to UPS personnel but at least they tried. The fast shipping ensures that the box isn't handled too often in transit, which is the source of most damage (overhandling.)The monitor was in perfect shape. The screen did have a few smudges on it. It's a glossy screen, but not particularly reflective. My computer is set up right next to a window and I was concerned that the screen would be too reflective, but that is not the case. It actually looks rather high quality. The back of it is actually metal instead of plastic. I was shocked by that. All in all, it's a pretty attractive monitor.Mine came with no dead or stuck pixels, which I was very concerned about. It comes with a US plug, which was nice. However, they didn't bother to get the instructions translated. They're all in Korean! Guess you'll just have to wing it. The Button for the onscreen menus are behind the screen. Take a good look at them then memorize them by feel. Not the most logical setup but anyone with the ability to learn and adapt shouldn't have too much of an issue. The monitor has a VGA and DVI connection. One of the button switches between these two connections. Out of the box the monitor was set on VGA. The onscreen menus are in Korean but if you fiddle with it enough you can figure out how to change the language. The image quality is top notch. It comes out of the box extremely bright. Some reviews of the Monoprice Zero-G, which is the same monitor, have stated that the brightness control does not actually turn down the backlight but instead fiddles white levels or something like that, which has the effect of demolishing the contrast ratio. According to that review, the manufacturer said this would be corrected. I don't know if it was on this one or not, but the menu does have a control for brightness and contrast. The box had the model number with seven different variants with check boxes besides each variant. Mine had the QH-2700-IPSMS LITE2 box checked. I don't know if this is a later edition or what. All in all, I'm really happy. My games look good and the monitor classes up my desk nicely. And I saved at least a couple hundred bucks.

Great product for the price.
I had no dead pixels and just a couple of bleeding areas, but those areas don't really bother me. I've honestly never seen it hinder any performance or experiences due to it. I only wished they bezel was smaller.
