Oreck Hose, Slinky Buster B with Shurlok Notch Black

Hose was a lot shorter than I thought it to be. I could not find in description the length of hose

I don't care for it much as the strength of contraction is too strong. It requires too much effort to push the wand away from you. I prefer the older design that is only flexible and not collapsible.It seems durable enough that I'll have to live with it for awhile.

I've purchase many things from Amazon but this is probably my favorite. Of all things, right? The reason is, I've had this cannister vacuum FOREVER. It outlasted my marriage and four cross-country moves, faithfully cleaning up after kids, husband, and dogs for 20 years. Then the nozzle on the hose cracked in half and broke off and wouldn't hold the attachments any longer. I thought I'd have to trash the vacuum until I searched for the part on Amazon, and to my surprise, there it was. It is indeed a bit shorter like other reviewers said, but very sturdy, and fits perfect. My little vacuum now has a new lease on life. Cheers to 20 more years of cleaning adventures, que sera, sera... ;-D

I have needed a replacement hose for some time now. Mine was held together with duct tape. This new hose works perfectly!

While this can replace the original, longer hose that comes with your Oreck handheld vacuum, its "slinky" feature makes working with this hose a difficult chore. The idea is that the long hose will retract and save storage space, but the hose fights to stay in the more compact shape rather than stretching and recoiling easily. The canister gets tugged along when vacuuming so you must have one hand holding the canister away from the suction end of the hose at all times. I get very frustrated every time I use this hose. Save yourself the headache and replace your hose with one that is identical to the original. I've had this hose over four years and am finally breaking down and replacing it even though it's in perfect condition. I can hold the hose at one end and let the canister dangle, but the hose still won't extend all the way. You will struggle with this hose every time if you still choose to purchase one.

my last oreck lasted over 17 years!!!! seriously THE BEST! I love this commercial one more because its cord is so dang long I can vaccum each floor of my house on 1 plug! its super light and manuverable! i feel like dancing each time I use it, sometimes I do dance! my parents have that expensive dyson vaccum and I HATE it! seriously, its is not good, its heavy and hard to move around stuff and I hate cleaning out the dust trap- makes such a mess. yes this has bags, but they are super cheap and I use like 1 bag a month- they are worth every penny to keep the mess in the bag! o- and I like the new handle with the on/off switch on it, so much better than my old oreck. did I tell you I love my oreck? i do! I do! so quit thinking about which is better, this one or the dyson...I have had years of experience with both- Get the oreck! And guess what? you know how many dysons my parents have been through since I have owned my 1 old oreck...3! seriously! why? because Dysons SUCK, but not in a good vaccum way...Orecks are just built so so much better and, also in case you are wondering, the Oreck works great on bare floors too, and you dont need to switch settings like the dyson. just sayin
