Lone Star for Now, edited to 4-star (could be a 5-star)
First, it arrived very late (ordered on 12/29/20 and arrived 1/9/21). When I got this adapter, I immediately plugged it into my DELL XPS 15 9500(2020) and connected 4k60Hz Sony HDR TV. It worked at 4K 60Hz for a minute or two. Then, I checked HDR capability on the display settings, it showed Yes to Stream HDR Video but No to Use HDR. There was a hope that this Uptab adapter might work at 4K60Hz with HDR. Then, all of a sudden my TV lost input signal and blacked out. I checked all connections, unplugged and re-plugged, changed to other ports, but to no avail. I plugged different brand adapter(,which I intended to replace with the Uptab adapter), it worked fine as before. I really wanted this Uptab adapter to work in my setup. It showed a glimpse of hope, then went dead. I am not sure this is a fluke or not, but I want to try again. I am ordering a replacement. When the replacement arrives sooner and it works, then I will add a lot more stars to my review.Edited 1/17/2021 - Got the replacement (it arrived a little faster than the first one) and plugged it in. It works as advertised. I am running my Sony Bravia 43X800H 4K TV at 4096x2160 at 60 Hz, 8-bit with dithering, RGB(4:4:4) with HDR. This is one of very few adapters that worked for my setup. I docked a one-star for the late delivery and the defective unit for the first shipment. Price is reasonable and well-made. I wish the USB-C cord from the adapter could be a bit longer, maybe a foot long?

Works with 4K Alienware 17 R4
I have an Alienware 17 R4 gaming laptop with a 4K primary display, and besides being able to mirror, extend, and solo to a secondary display using this adapter (plugged into a Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port), I can stream 4K UHD Blu-rays to my Samsung 4K UHD TV (solo to the TV, not mirror or extend) using this adapter along with Intel 630 graphics (Very important: with the latest driver. Also, I think this may be the only graphics for now that allows playback of 4K UHD Blu-rays), a Kolife 4K HDMI cable, and one of those USB 3.0 portable Japanese Pioneer 4K UHD Blu-ray drives. The only drawback is that, at least with my setup, HDR does not seem to be supported. Not a deal breaker for me (UHD is still visually superior to FHD), but I thought it'd be worth mentioning.

Doesn't work that well
Does not work at all, straight out of the package. Like, zero, zip, zilch, nada. No signal at all. I know nothing is wrong because my Havit hub works fine, what I needed was HDMI 2.0a and what I got was nothing.UPDATE: I got it working, it actually works better than the Club, the only other USB-C to HDMI 2.0a adapter out there. The only way to get it working with the late 2016 MacBook Pro (15 inch) w/Sierra is to completely shut down then turn on the computer each time the adapter is plugged back in. In fact, Windows 10 does a whole lot better job of detecting it than Mac OS Sierra. At least Windows isn't so flaky.I honestly don't know if it's a Mac OS problem or a problem with the Adapter, but unfortunately this is literally the only adapter out there that sort of works currently. Good luck.

True Thunderbolt to HDMI 2.0b with 4k 60Hz HDR
Having bought numerous Thunderbolt to HDMI adapters, this is the only one that is compliant to HDMI 2.0b which is 4k 60 Hz and HDR (30 bit color depth). I am so happy that when connected to my OLED TV, my windows computer (Yoga C940 14 with 4K display) say "Stream HDR vide" Yes; "Play HDR games & apps" yes; "Use WCG apps" Yes!All other adapters I have bought are 24 bit color depth (instead of 30 bit), and some are limited to 30 Hz only.

DisplayPort Type-C to HDMI 2.0b
I bought a Dell Precision 3541 to be able to play 4k UHD HDR movie. The on-board HDMI seems to be a HDMI 2.0 ( not a nor b ). I needed a HDMI 2.0b adapter. The UPTab did just the job. I was able to play 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz with 10bit color. Integrated Intel limitation only allow to play 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz with 8 bit with dithering.

Awesome 4K Monitoring!
I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on these types of adapters, but this product seemed to work as expected. I used it with some Ultra Clarity 4K cables, to ensure the signal wasn't compromised. I was able to select 4k @ 60 Hz, using a new Laptop and fairly new 4K Samsung TV. I did a fair amount of checking to ensure the laptop could handle 4K@60Hz before I bought it. Very pleased with shipping & product!

No luck with Samsung TV and 2017 MacBook Pro
For some reason my Samsung TV (UN48JU7500FXZA) only supports 4K@60Hz when "UHD Color" (HDR?) is enabled. Previous adapters I've tried with my 2017 MacBook Pro 13" that only supported HDMI 2.0 instead of HDMI 2.0a didn't work at that resolution/refresh rate, either only allowing 30Hz or showing a blank screen. This adapter is able to display that resolution and refresh rate, however the screen periodically goes blank for a few seconds about every ten minutes or so, as if something has to reset itself. This doesn't appear to happen when connected at 4K@30Hz. I'm not sure if the problem is with the computer, the adapter, the TV, or some combination, but it's not really usable for me.

Does not work with late 2016 macbook pro
Doesn't work with late 2016 macbook pro. Would have been nice to list that fact in the description. Perhaps this thing works well with other devices but I have to return it.

Works OK but has to be present on bootup. Not hot pluggable.
Bought to use on a Macbook Pro 2016 to drive my 4K TV.As others have mentioned it has to be plugged in when the computer boots. Plugging it in while the computer is on results in no picture, a suspend and resume wont help,it needs a full reboot to detect the screen. Also the screen must be plugged into the adapter and turned on as the computer boots up, the adapter being there isn't sufficient.Other than that inconvenience it works well. It drives my LG 43UH668V TV with 4k at 60Hz, and iTunes is happy to play HD content to it.I notice it will also drive my Dell P2415Q with 4k at 30Hz which is the maximum that monitor can do via HDMI.
