At Any Moment: Volume 3 (Gaming The System)

5 Lovely Stars
This last book was by far the best one in the trilogy... I'd like to summarise them all here but I'll try not to give any spoilers away :)After reading book one (At Any Price) I grew to really like the characters in this series, it was nice, quirky and nerdy, but it leads you into a false sense of security... because Wham! when you're plunged into the second book (At Any Turn) it's like a totally different story from the one you started out with... It was dark and depressing, and Adam's side of the story left us all confused and wondering WTH was going on (which is depicted nicely to Mia in the third instalment) but I stuck with it because I wanted to see how Mia and Adam's story panned out...At Any Moment was a very touching finale to the series... on the whole, these books take you through the journey of a couple who fall in love and come into tragedy early on in their relationship... we watch their struggles from each of their points of view and most of the time it's really frustrating, but the way the story ends is beautifully done... we see them heal as individuals and then come together and reunite as a couple once more... their HEA is one that will stay with me, and it's one to measure against in books to come...If you read Brenna's comments on Goodreads there's a link to sign up for emails... when you do, you get a few extra scenes from Adam's POV from the first book which I really enjoyed, and a brief, but nice, 5 year epilogue that is downloadable in PDF format...You have to read all three of these as a series, they are not standalone's, although the first book doesn't have much of a cliff hanger. I'm so pleased I stuck with these books and can't wait to read more from this author! :)

Oh man
I feel wrung out after this! Crikey it kept me hooked. I haven't gotten anything else done today as I needed to know what was going to happen. I just love this geology of books. The characters are so good. I need to know more.

Heartening
This third book about Adam and Emilia follows on from the heartbreak of book two. The hell these two people go through has the reader agonising over the future of their relationship. Brilliant believable, battering. I loved it all.

The last was definitely the best!
So glad I decided to persevere with this trilogy in the end. The conclusion of Mia and Adam's story although sad was well written with an obvious good knowledge of the subject matter. As a survivor myself I felt the pain and agony of Mia with every word as though I was reliving it myself. This was a sensitive subject to deal with and for me to read and I shed many a tear. The gaming side was kept to a minimum in this book which pleased me as its not something I understand. However my disappointment came at the end as the story seemed to cut off short. Yes Adam and Mia looked like their personal issues were resolving but a lot of other issues including medical issues were not discussed, like reconstruction, check ups, future children etc.I would have liked more of an epilogue type ending to tie up some loose ends hence my 4star review; my hope will be that this sweet couple will feature in the next book about Jordan, I just hate loose ends, but well done worth a read.

Joyful to read
This is the 3rd instalment in the gaming series and it is just as awesome as the first 2 books, and I am going to be totally honest and try not to give away to many spoilers. This book is in a dual POV which is refreshing and each chapter is titled for the character so it really is easy to follow the story and its great getting 2 different POV on the situation that this unfolding. This was a great follow on from book 2 and I felt that it was written with great respect especially when dealing with the subject matter involved.I am not the fastest reader and I read this book in about 2 days (which is quick for me) as I couldn't put it down as I was hoping for the HEA and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I absolutely love this author and I am a new reader to her books. Her writing is excellent and she can really bring you into the story and I love the nerdy/geek side to her books which is a breath of fresh air. I can not recommend this book or the series more if you like contemporary romances then these books are a must to read.

I would now love to read a book dealing with the time period ...
Read all 3 books over a 3 day period - what an emotional rollercoaster and fabulous read, couldn't put down...signed up to the newsletter for this author and got the 5 year forward epilogue...phew...and breath! So many of the real life issues (illness/loss) mirrored from aspects of my own life...I would now love to read a book dealing with the time period between the end of this book and the 5 year forward incerpt....yep tough decisions still to be made and scary times, would love to see Mia and Adam address these united...with all the spice in between! Will likely read about Jordan soon, despite his good deed in this book haven't quite forgiven him yet so may wait a little while first! Well done Brenna...fabulous read, I have already found myself looking up Orange County and Newport on google images..(Adams music is my time era and my hubby is a software developer doing great things of his own) as I am in the UK now, having grown up in Africa, this time of year with small amounts of often gloomy daylight is particularly tough for me...never expected to fall in love with the characters as I did and have loved my escapism into Southern California....Thank you...job well done...
