Sandford's best yet!
John Sandford is my benchmark for thriller writers; the plots are dense, the action rapid, the characters great and small fleshed out, and the books read like a dream. Ocean Prey is Sandford at the peak of his game, a dizzying ride through Florida and New York in the hunt for millions in drugs left on the seabed. On the legal side, most of the newer players are there, Rae, Virgil, Bob and Lucas, but a new cast of villains, intelligent, adaptable, and murderous. if you have never read Sandford, give yourself a treat, get this book--but when you open it, make sure you have some reading time, because .once started you won't want to stop

Slightly different type of prey book
Lucas is off to the seaside and manages to drag Virgil into it too. When I read that they were both going to be in a book together I was really excited. This had a different feel to it than a normal prey book, possibly because of the undercover element. That said, it was a great read and everything you would expect from a prey book. I did predict the early plot twist but I'm not going to put any spoilers in.

Superb
Lucas Davenport and Virgil working together. Excellent story line. If you have enjoyed the Prey books you will enjoy this one too. If you haven't read any Prey books don't start with this one! You're a lucky person to able to look forward to the series.

Pretty good.
I liked this, plenty of movement, some mild humour. The story’s an old standard, but it’s the way you tell ‘em !

A great combo read
I’ve read every Davenport and Flowers book up to now. This was at the better end. It’s hard to put down. I can’t wait for the next instalment from The author

Unputdownable
Best Prey book yet and an extra bonus in having Virgil in it as well.

Wow. Top drawer.
Wow, how can you keep getting better. Top 5 all time from JS. Most series get stale. Not this one. Blown away. Really.
