To me it wasnt worth the wait
Again this is not the "old" martina and thats my opinion. The storyline was good but nothing i havnt read similar to before....i also didnt like how the story goes forward by a couple of years...one minute theres a child born and the next chapter she has 2 children....no inbetween...probably wasnt relevant to the story but nonetheless i found it annoying. Lot of characters too which is hard to keep up with.Im a die hard m c fan but her last 6 books are nowhere near as good as her early stuff...it pains me to say all this but i speak as i find because reading is my life.... with hindsight i shouldve spent £9.99 on something else

Same characters with different names
I am a massive martina cole fan. I have read every one of her books and pre order them as soon as I can. . . This is why it pains me to rate this book only 3 stars. The characters are mirrors of previous characters in her other books. Phrases are well over used and the writing is repetitive. It just feels her last 8 or so books have been the same with a few details changed. No real story line. Just a string of minor events. Martina seems to have lost her edge which is really sad. . . That being said I enjoy reading her books but maybe this is in hoping of a surprise ending or something brilliant like her earlier books. Particularly two women. Good night lady, dangerous lady, broken or the take. However this book had a better ending than her last 8 or so. But the characters seemed to familiar and some came and went with no relevance to the story.I do still love martina and I will still buy her next book because I do enjoy reading them. But I fear I am losing some of that faith in her writing as I nearly didn't continue with this one. Please martina gives us something new. .

Martina Cole is back....with imo one of her best books
Martina Cole is back and back with a bang, a loud bang!I have read every one of her previous 24 books and this, for me, is up there as one of her bestIn this book its the Davis family we are introduced to via Diane the matriarch Mum and all their wheelings and dealings in true gangland fashion, we get to meet all the family characters and what a rum lot they are! Via the authors no nonsense story telling style we learn about their good and their bad sides, what they are doing and with who and what makes them tick all alongside a really fast paced story, there is even 2 massive twists that give back the brilliance that this writer is renowned forYes there is repetition and yes much mention of ‘strange’ ‘having to swallow their own knob’ and sayings that ‘their old Mum said’ but its all part and parcel of what makes a great Martina Cole story so distinctReally pleased to be able to say I loved this and the 2 year wait was well worth it10/105 Stars

Not a good read at all
This was not a good read at all, no real storyline to get into and finished without much happening at all, definitely wasn't worth the wait !

Lost for words
Honestly as my title says I really am lost for anything good to say! I have always loved Martina Cole her earlier books were untouchable and I don't believe another author apart from maybe Jackie Collins could take you to the places she did, her storytelling was top notch and I felt like I knew each character completely . I've read thousands of books and still my all time favourite is goodnight lady but she cannot write like that anymore! There is no story, I don't know what the characters look like all I know is the repetitive explanations she now forces down your neck. It's such a disappointment to know that this legend in her lunchtime is no more!!!
