The Shy Little Kitten (Little Golden Books)

The shy little kitten meets a friendly stranger. He looks back for his family, doesn’t see them so he goes into the forest with the stranger. When the kitten decides he wants to go home, he trusts another, mischievous stranger to lead him there. Lucky kitten does make it home, but there are no good morals in this story. It’s not a story of friendship, as the strangers aren’t mentioned again after he makes it home, except for a frog who the kitten and other farm animals laugh at when he gets a bee sting. In the end he declares it the best day ever. I don’t think so.

I loved this book as a child, as did my daughter, and I look forward to reading it to my grandson. This little golden book has stood the test of time. I was so happy to find this classic.

We do love our Little Golden Books. This story isn't as great as some of the others, but it's a pretty good book. She likes it well enough, and I don't mind reading it somewhat often... just not on the level of the Red Hen and Poky Little Puppy.

Purchased this book and others to restock a local children's reading room that was damaged by water during the Texas freeze. Was thrilled to see the young kids still love these old classics.

I was invited to a baby shower and instead of buying a card to put with the gift we were asked to buy a book for the baby. I chose two Little Golden books that I had as a child and that my kids had as children because they meant so much to me. I think that was really a cute idea for a baby shower. You were to sign the book so that when he/she got older the baby would know from whom they came. You can't beat Little Golden books.

Little one loves this book! She is all about cats! So this is a great book for the cat loving little ones.

I remember this book from childhood. This one looks just like the one I had. Only new. I love it and am hiding it from my grandkids! I'll read it to them, but this one is mine! Thank you very much for bringing back such good memories. Virginia Bres

This is a classic Little Golden Book, with a charming, retro feel to it. In length, these are very like the Ladybird books, and ideal bedtime stories for 3 and 4 year olds. The shy little kitten lives in the old red barn with her mother and her five brothers and sisters. One day, mummy takes them outside and she meets a mole, a frog and a little puppy. This is a sweet story about her adventures on the farm, before she makes her way back to her mummy and siblings. I am delighted these are now available on kindle – the stories are timeless indeed and lovely to share with your little one.

Pretty lame book. The story doesn't make much sense and isn't very clever.

My 4 year old daughter loves this book. Very cute and a nice relaxing bedtime tale. Lovely colourful pictures too.

Nice gentle story for a little one and pictures are quite retro in style. Worth buying.
