Dorman590-079 Rear Park Assist Camera Compatible With Select Dodge/RAM/Srt Models, Black

Original camera on my 2014 Dodge Ram was blurry and needed to be replaced. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, but after watching an online video I tackled this project. Be warned, if you have huge hands, this might be a bit more challenging, but it is very straight forward. Took less than half an hour to do, and a good portion of that was trying to fish a bit out of the tail gate that had fallen into a hard to reach spot. The camera attached and connected without any problems and has a great image. No complaints so far.

The clarity is excellent. This is our 3rd camera and the last one we replaced was a true Dodge product and the cost was almost double. Good value for your dollar. The original has a metal bracket to hold the camera in place where this one is plastic. This would be the only thing I could see that might, and I stress might, be an issue as we live in the country and travel some ruff roads.

What I recommend other buys to do - Swap the metal plate from old camera to new one. The metal frame sits the same and is a lot stronger then the plastic one that your new camera has.I just got mine, so I can’t say whether the plastic bracket can last long or not, but for a few moments of your time you can swap these pieces.Other then that, great purchase

Camera not only fit in there perfect and was easy to install, it also provides a better picture than the original camera that failed. Well worth it.

my 2013 ram 3500's backup camera got wet or something in the winter and was very blurry, so I went looking for a replacement. All the similar cameras locally were about double the price of this, which made me skeptical, but I purchased this one anyway. I am completely happy with my decision as this one works perfectly.
